she only has to herself to blame. She was up a set and a break. Really fell apart mentally in the 2nd set. All those BP's are going to keep her awake tonight. 7/25 or something like that.
Quite frankly I dont think she can handle the pressure of being a defending champion, I didnt like the way she threw her racket and left the court with some fans booing her
I cant give her a pass when she does things like this, she isnt a junior any more, not the first time, she has joined the tour full time, her focus is not what it used to be, her coach needs to take her aside and point out the glaring faults in her game, her fhand dosent need that extreme grip for starters, also she has to stop acting like a Spoilt Brat, to her box., also stop yelling at fans, she is still in the doubles at present with Mboko

Yeah but the rock can affect the balance on the backhand side. I am worried. And 6-2, 6-3 is not retirement territory. Double bagel baby !
Osaka is odd. But you're in deep hate territory. She's a good enough tennis player for some of us to hope she finds her best again.

Maddy won her lone slam. She has returned back to the land of mediocrity and playing down to the level of her opponent. Even if she finds her way out of this decider, I don't see her doing much in the Sunshine doub.

Sonay Kartal strikes again, defeating Keys in 3 sets 26 62 63, she took out Navarro yesterday in 3, quite frankly a winnable match for Madison

I know. She's had a few duds like that since her maiden slam. I just don't think the fire is there anymore. Maybe she can get it back if she really wants to move off the 1 slam wonder list. That list is pretty crowded right about now. We'll see. She took people by surprise last year because she actually didn't fold in the tense matches. I just don't think lightening will strike twice for her. But hey, what do I know?

Not too deep...but I do not like her. She is not real. Do you ever read the poetry of Rumi? One of his lines that I love roughly translates as "Appear as you are , or be as you appear" .

I was really pleased for Madison when she won her slam, quite frankly I thought it was beyond her, but she made me eat 'humble pie' and she deserved it, agree the fire dosent seem to be there, who knows it may ignite.

Interesting enough, many folks who lost in R1 or qualies here went down to Austin Challenger and played qualies today. They also lost there.

Last night match Hooray
Rybakina dont you dare play crappy like in your previous game which you should have won in straight sets, The Drama Queen Kostyuk could be up to her usual tricks
Rybakina d Kostyuk in straight sets, though it was tight and a competitive match, 64 64

Mixed doubles draw is out,
Venus Williams/Christian Harrison WC
Leylah Fernandez/John Peers WC
At least Venus and Leylah were both given WC to the mixed doubles after the Big Failure from the tournament not verifying their wild cards as a doubles team before the draw came out
Mixed doubles tournament will start tomorrow, Tuesday
