I like the Kerber and Woz matchup, lots of moonballs. The Pav and Kostyuk will have unnecessary drama.Jasmine is feeling good and Potapova has not been playing well.Swiatek will have to deal with low balls from Putin.

As long as some of these matches arent at night, I watched Pavs v Haddad Maia and the conditions in the desert at night are soo slow,
Kerber and Woz should go 3 sets, also Pavs and Marta matches of late probably will go the full distance, hopefully Jasmine will keep going and Iga to win over Putintseva

Hopefully Saba and Gauff can play a whole lot better than they did in their 1st round matches, both their opponents served for the matches, they can thank their inexperience and nerves cost them, Gauff and Saba form since the AO has been sub par.
I expect Osaka to get the win over Mertens, still Osaka needs more matches, to me she needs to lose weight, at times she is still too slow to get to the ball.
Hopefully Sloane turns up in her match against Daria
I expect Blinkova to get the win over Parry

Saba had to dig deep to serve out the 1st set 63 against Raducanu, she finally got there in the end

how is Mertens a top 25 player? At times, she looks as if she should be playing challengers :astonished-face:

Yep, though she took out Osaka in straight sets? 65 75, she can slice and dice, put balls in difficult places on the court, Mertens exceles in doubles, making Osaka come forward, Osaka is not comfortable coming forward, her transition game has always been sub par, along with her volley play, she should play doubles for starters,. Osaka said in her press after the match, she didnt come back to tennis to become No 1, she came back to win more grands slams
Mertens will face Gauff next

Let's face it, Elise won because Naomi is a mess right now. Did you see that last game? Mertens was praying for errors because she was afraid to serve it out. Naomi isn't winning GS or getting back to #1 w/ her current play. She needs to get in better shape. She has no rally tolerance. Trying to redline and end the points early because she's not fit enough or patient enough to build the points. She needs a training block where she gets trimmer and then she can focus on getting match tough.

Agree regarding how Mertens won, I have said many times Osaka is over weight and cant get to the balls in a match. A training block is an excellent idea.
BTW coming back to win GS events, she has to realize the competition has changed, also the players she thinks she can win against are playing better, the depth is much higher now.

The tour has definitely raised its level. These gals now can hang w/ her from the baseline. Two of her previous slam wins were easy because of she faced momma Serena and Jen Brady. These days, she will have 1 of 5 possibilities waiting on her in the final: Iga, Saba, Elena, Coco or someone else she underestimates.

Emma is off to a great start winning 6-1 against Elina, Emma just has to believe more in her game and herself and the good results will come

Okay we are going 3 sets, Elina won the 2nd set 64 , Emma did have a break, though could not hold it,Elina likes these slower conditions, Emma has to go back to how she was playing in the opening set and believe in her tennis
