I.Swiatek (3) vs M.Sakkari (6)

H2H Sakkari 3-1....Swiatek won their recent meeting in Doha.

The player who wins the title at IW will move up to No 2 in the WTA ranking.

Swiatek is on a 10 match win streak and is looking to win back to back WTA 1000 tournament wins.

This is Sakkari's first WTA 1000 final

Swiatek is 4-1 in finals and Sakkari 1-3.

Good luck to both ladies,hoping it will be a competitive final.

Iga wins the 1st set 64.. both players can play better to me. The wind maybe a factor.

Lets see what happens in the 2nd set

One thing I have noticed with Iga the last couple of months,which I like,she is more patient with her shots,still being aggressive,waiting for the right moment to put away her shots.

Maria having trouble with her serve DFs.she has improved her 1st serve,though at times it can be her worst enemy.In this wind which comes and goes,maybe take some power off it,use a slice serve,whatever

I really thought that Maria would have more of an impact here. Wind is an issue so maybe the Swiatek spin has been a help? Iga serving for it 5-1.

Actually for a 20 year old that was her 3rd WTA 1000 tournament win!

I bet Iga will cool down and go and watch her favorite male player Rafa....she stalks Rafa in tournaments lol!,they do share a good relationship with one another wherever they play at the same tournament.
I remember when I saw her at the AO watching Rafa, in the final,her eyebrows went up and down she made me laugh even though I was suffering

Her eyebrows go up and down when she’s pleased she’s watching Rafa. When she’s really happy, she nods her head. And when she’s ecstatic watching Rafa, her eyes might blink once or twice more than usual. She really needs to calm down…
