Goffin upset Kohli and Maximo Gonzalez upset Rosol.
They will be playing each other for a spot in the final

The live scoreboard on the ATP site doesn't even have a photo of Thiem yet. You would think now that he is a top 50 player, that would have been taken care of.

5-2. Dominic serving for the 1st set. Bamos!

David Goffin will also dispute his first F on Tour.
This must be the youngest final in sometime.

Congratulations to both Dominic and you Moose:clap

It is exciting for a fan to witness their player's first final. Good luck to him, hopefully he wins it!

RE: 2014 Kitzbuhel

I like David Goffin, and I'd like it if he built on his excellent French Open 2012 performance, but seriously, is there anyone out there that doesn't want Mr Thiem to win his first ATP title at 20 years of age, on home turf?

Fingers crossed for Domi tomorrow - I hope to be reading a very happy post-match write-up on his Facebook page.

And I hope to be writing that up for our Front Page here. It's true that Goffin is appealing, but he's sort of an anecdote. What we want is a breakthrough performance, and, in Austria, Thiem seems poised. I hope he can do it.

RE: 2014 Kitzbuhel

For either player, it would be a pretty big breakthrough, but for tennis, it's more important for the spotty young gun to get in the headlines. I believe in this kid, and I like the way he plays, fingers crossed. I might even tolerate the absolutely horrific camera angle on Kitzbuhel's Centre Court to see how he does.

On his home turf, I feel (read: hope) that it's meant to be for Thiem to make the breakthrough this weekend.

And don't forget in all the excitement, that this is the last clay court match (with the exception of Davis Cup ties and Challengers/Futures) we'll see until Vina Del Mar in late February next year - that's over six months away!

I totally get the enthusiasm. If Dominic wins, it would be a very similar achievement, like of the last 20y old who won his first title, Bernie Tomic, on home soil in Brisbane in 2013.
