I completely agree. Whether these are wise decisions, I'm just trying to think why he makes them. It's a bit late to drop out of DC, but he could. Or he could drop W-S. I get that it's his home tourney, and they probably give him a lot of incentive, but even Rafa dropped Barcelona at least once, albeit really reluctantly. This many tournaments in the heat and humidity? And he's a big guy. I absolutely think that he should schedule to protect a quality USO. We'll see if he makes any adjustments.Nobody is expecting Isner to win the US Open. However, I think he should be capable of reaching at least a QF at least one year. He has not even managed to do that. Even money and points wise, I guess going deeper at USO probably gives more value than winning an Atlanta or WS.
