Poor Stan. Rafa is just too good at beating people. He didn't even look that great today.

credit to Rafa, he is money against Stan.....one of those match-ups where everything works during big points.

Congrats Ralf.

Stan Wawrinka - once again chunked his shot and still not even a set in the win column against the Majorcan

He is a great improvement over having the punching bag tipsy at the wtf.

Stan is not the 8 seed is he? I thought Reeshard was 8.

Maybe. Or maybe he'll play better when he needs to.

Congrats to Rafa, He deserves to be on top again. However, I dont think he is playing as agressively as he did in Montreal, Cincy or USO. Rafa has absolutely no 1st serve, return of serve is crap,he is hitting the ball way to short and he is not coming forward. I am not too confident that he will make it pass the semis regardless who he plays but at this point who cares, HE IS NUMERO UNO. VAMOS RAFA

I wonder if the match was closer because Rafa was tense over the year end #1 stuff? I just got in and saw him celebrate after, but I missed all the match. I got the impression against ferrer that he can go up a few levels easily at this event, but obviously he didn't today...

can't you just celebrate instead of coming out with stuff like that :nono ..

sometimes it not all to do with just rafa you know..ferrer was 100% rubbish.

fill the room with a volley of vamos's

Hey brother, I didn't see the match, but Rafa was up a break in the first, up 4-1 in the second, it's reasonable to ask why he didn't win the sets easier...

stan played better than ferrer, apart from the tiebreaks when stan the spam choked on some..errr, spam.

he was moving rafa around, maybe rafa didn't chase down some balls..maybe tired, maybe didn't feel the need to..maybe he couldn't play 100%, stan kept pulling his bh into the tram lines so that part was poor..

nadal level isn't where it was a while back, he played at his recent level I suppose..stan was decent enough, just backhand fail and choked the tb pressure points.:)

Nadal is still not fully adjusted to the indoor conditions. He even said he's not feeling the ball very well after the first match. Good thing he's got Berdych next. Should help him sharpen up his game before the semis.

These two are both holding serve. Who will blink first?
