QFs are set:

Paire v. Jaziri
Dogopolov v. Nishikori
Nadal v. Fognini
Kuznetsov v. Kohlscreiber

Match of the day is Rafa v. F3...The Grudge. Though I think Rafa's going to put him away handily. I think the others could turn out to be the more interesting matches.

Look at Jaziri, great result for him. Nice mix of veterans and younger guys. Maybe I get lucky and see a bit of F3 and Nadal before leaving for work.

Good win for Rafa today. F3 was trying to force a 3rd, but Rafa got the break back and pushed hard to close the deal. Another good sign. Fabio got under his skin last year. He has tools to bother Nadal, obviously. He was spraying the errors by the end. He got it to the TB after Rafa broke back, but he played a terrible one. But Rafa will be putting this one in the confidence bank, for sure.

SFs are Paire v. Nishikori and Kohly v. Nadal. Nishikori and Paire are 2-2, with Paire winning the last 2, both last year, and Nishikori the only clay one. (RG 2013). Nadal will probably be fine getting past Kohlscrieber, and I do think the final will be Spain v. Japan, but Paire might have something to say about it. Nishikori is th e champion of the last 2 years in Barcelona.

Agree with the predictions... Paire might be the only one to throw a spanner in the works. He's beaten Kei on the last two occasions albeit on hard courts, but also pushed him on clay in the past.

I'm watching the first set and a half of Nadal v. Fognini, which I missed earlier. Has anyone else noticed Fabio's gut? People were calling Stan out for chubby, but this is a little shocking, and rather less than "fabulous."

Both Nishikori and Nadal looked good today. Should be a very nice final.
