I truly question whether Lisicki will ever be an elite player. She just doesn't seem to have mental fortitude and "tennis brain" to make that next step.

I'm glad someone see's it as well. Even on her best surface (grass), she's up and down w/ her results.

Kimiko can confuse ballbashers and has a history of knocking out a lot of them from pova,Safina and many tall players because her ball stays very very low..

Lisicki should NOT be losing that match up. Maybe 10 15 years ago, yeah, not now. Lisicki just is not mentally strong and she hasn't learned how to construct points and change when she's challenged.

I don't think she'll ever be an elite player. I think perhaps she'll have a flash in the pan moment somewhere other than grass. It's hard to even tell if she would be consistent on grass if it was more tournaments than 3 at most a year.

Keys down 2 breaks in the decider to Tomljanovic. Both are wearing the same outfit. I can't tell one from the other. :cover

Update: Ajla dismisses Madison 6-1 in the final set. Apparently, they are best friends.

Keys struggles on the USA hardcourts for some reason..she is not mentally tough nor patient and those are the most important parts of tennis.
I think she grew up cushioned a lot by parents so she is beige no confidence and apologetic ...like James Blake.
She has to go out there and play without asking for coaching..figure out stuff on her own. That builds character and confidence..

Caroline in trouble. Drops the opener to Varvara and isn't moving well. Looks like a calf injury.

Not Carolines day. As the match went on it was obvious that she wasn't feeling well. One can ask why did she play at all. In the coaching in second set Caroline said that she had pain in her leg and maybe she should have stopped there. I hope she chooses to drop the next tournament in Toronto to get fit for Cincy. Then NOT playing in New Haven (I hope) to be fit for US Open. Well it was a pity to watch today - that's tennis. Glad Aga survived her scare today.

Svitolina is impressive for a 20yr old..she rarely implodes. She is progressing well for her age and of all the young players she seems mentally strong. She is better than the overhyped young Americans and Robson...
