I was getting BÃ¥stad mixed up with Gstaad and wondering why Fed's name wasn't listed. But then I remembered, the old bastad (sic) isn't playing here :)

Nice to see a 17 year old doing so well against a decent player.

I don't get Berdych.. He has more God given talented than most of the players of the tour but refuses to become a consistent player.

I noticed on today's schedule that Ramos and Berlocq are scheduled to play at 2:00 PM, followed by a doubles match -- Brunstrom/Klaasen vs. Ramos/Berlocq. That could be awkward.

hah - how weird is that. makes you wonder about the scheduling. it's the only doubles match on that day, too. weird.

Verdasco and Almagro on serve in the decider. Fernando took the first 6-4, Nico the second by the same score.

For Herios' sake, I'm pulling for Verdasco.

btw, Bastaad had an unbelievable legends doubles competition for such a small tourney. reminder of the greatness of swedish tennis. Edberg, Wilander, T Johansson, Simon Aspelin (great doubles player)

Verdasco breaks to go up 4-3 in the 3rd!

And Almagro breaks right back ...

Verdasco breaks to go up 6-5. Now we'll see if he can serve it out.

He did it! Held at love, even. Congrats, Verdasco! I'm glad to see him continue his winnings ways after such a terrific Wimbledon. Happy day for Herios, too. :)

Tomorrow it'll be Verdasco v. Dimitrov, which could be a good one.

Thiemo de Bakker beat Berdy...he was one folks were looking at a couple of years back, with no real satisfaction. Anyone see that one? Berdych tired?

RE: BÃ¥stad 250

Thanks tented for the support:D
Even if he plays better, such a torture to watch Fernando with his traditional DF's.
Yesterday I tuned in for 3 games only, he made 3 right there, 2 in one game when he was broken by Nico, to take tke the second set.
Fenando had 10 yesterday, but Nico was not great either, with his 8 DF's of his own!.
Today again, Fernando was up a break at 2-1, the next game he makes 2 DF and get broken right back. He opens the TB with a DF, but Grigor gave the favour back.

Fernando won the TB in the end 7-3

Vamos!

Not sure how Tomas played, but great win for De Bakker, perhaps he can make a come back in form, he is still young, at 24 and he was at 21 ranked 40, so the talent is there.

Wow, terrific match. :clap

(Dimitrov's FH on match point was stunningly bad. :snigger )

Yeah, Fernando hit several double faults yesterday, which you mention above. It is a shame he can't shake that, but in the end he won, which is what's most important.
