And this clown keeps bringing up Murray. I think you've missed the part where Roger at ages 32-34 (about 5-7 years removed from his prime) was destroying 26-28 year old Murray. Djokovic made up a lot of ground on this weakish version of Roger in his 30's too.

^ Novak is ahead in the H2H by 1 and keep in mind Roger has been washed up for many years now. And Novak has owned Rafa, a guy who has barely been #1 for 100 weeks in his career, and Novak has been owned in majors by Stan frickin Wawrinka, and has also been losing to cream puffs this past year. I'd say they all have holes to point out.

Novak has not owned Rafa. In his entire career, Novak has dominated Nadal for a year (though he dominated him in a major way). Everything else came after Nadal had two abysmal years, even worse years than the ones Roger had when Novak added to the head to head. Actually, way, way worse. Hell, even now, the head to head is 26-23. They've played 49 times and Novak won 3 more. Owned? Come on.

Point one person who under rates Nadal´s return and/or the way he reads the serve (and, if you do, I point you a lunatic).

I guess people confuse not calling the guy the greatest serve reader of all time to under-rating it.

you are putting words in my mouth inyour last statement\
\where did you learn how to do that?

i merely brought up my observation that perhaps people have forgotten rafa has been one of the best serve readers around..and i said that to explain that THIS is one reason why he made raonic feel very uncomfortable with his main weapon.

so -- what is your problem?

we are not allowed to bring some of RAFA'S good features apart from what most prefer to describe abotu him -- sometime in rather disdainful ways --
''oh he's winnning because of his gritty style?"

when people, cniluding myself point out that in volleyes to volleyes -- he often beats the supposed ''most complete ever" roger who -- by those definitions supposedly make roger volley better than anyone --

so whyare those seemingly problematic also when attached to RAFA? he is not good enough or pretty enough as a player or smooth enough that it would be wrong to point out that he actually - in face to face combat with roger for example

even in wiombledon -- rafa would beat him AT THE NET?

because pointing out sucht hings puts on the table for closer examination

roger's volleying as part of his being ''the best, most complete" ever..

and then nadal shows up - and BEATS HIM!!

PS: Novak has beaten Nadal straight times, ALL of which have come in 2015/2016. Meaning prior to that, he had a losing head to head, and it took him 7 straight wins over a part timer Nadal to reverse the record.

This is just a fact.

Oh how I miss the Fedal battles (the ones on the forums more so than the ones on the court). I'm ready. Praying it happens.

OH MY GOD -- can you imagine if they both manage to get through to finals?
of course they still have to try and find their best just to get there after quite a spell for BOTH already of being not at the top anymore.

but we'll see if it happens then.

Gets the juices flowing and everyone starts getting tribal. :boxing:

I seriously haven't been this excited about tennis in a long time and I am so worried Stan/Grigor/both will play spoiler, which could well happen.

It's the worst nightmare. Roger hasn't been competitive at a slam with him since 2009 AO and it isn't starting here. His balls will shrink if they meet, but I'm guessing Stan takes him out tonight. I was afraid Djokovic showing signs of being washed up would rejuvenate Rafa this year, to his credit he has seized the opportunity here.

To be fair, re: Novak-Nadal, Rafa had gotten a lead over Novak before the Serb had really turned the corner in his career. But I think it is very safe to say that on average, they've been evenly matched.

Overall since 2011 since Nole came into his own and went from good to great player it's been 19-7. And if Nadal had worse years at 29-30 than Roger had as a geriatric at 33-34 how is that a point in his favor?

Part timer? He didn't miss any time in 2015 and just a couple months of 2016.

oh dear... the Fedal wars are starting early. Wouldn't it be funny if it's a Stan-Dimi final after all this? :D
