I think one match stands out as the most interesting from today's schedule. That is between Daria G and Kristina M, a battle between two up and coming players. I think Daria will win with some crowd support factor in play.

Unfortunatley, I won't be able to watch it as it is very late.

After roasting the mini Davis in the opening set, Maria makes a mess of the 2nd set and loses it in a breaker. Heading for a decider where I suspect the occasion will eventually be too big for Davis.

Davis gets the TB in 2nd set. The second set was three times as long as the first time wise.

Sharapova has terrible record in tie-breaks. It is because of her all or nothing, go for broke shots are too risky when the margins are so small as in tie-breakers.

Now, the match between Dominatrix and Bencic is set up. Bencic is no Davis, she knows no fear.

Venus was really bad in that match in Auckland...errors galore.I think Venus is nursing a thigh injury that didnt heal from that win in China...
Serena has been good in all her matches so far compared to last year where she struggled in almost every match....
