Kei vs. Nico, Agut vs. Thiem are the standouts to me.

Ferrer/Belucci could be fun if Belucci plays well.

Ah, this is one of the tournaments where one half of the draw has significantly more bigger names than the other, and thus, more loaded with "watchable" matches. Nevertheless, Nishikori-Almagro is a pretty good first round match-up.

It really depends on where Almagro's game is. i like him a lot, but if he is still pretty rusty, it could be a real dud.

^Nah, Almagro can't hurt Nishikori. He doesn't change the ball's direction (the dtl bh is too predictable), does not have any variety, and does not hit hard enough to give KN trouble. Easy straights.

Nishkori's proven that he can stay relatively healthy for a most of a tennis season. The inability to remain injury free was always his biggest hurdle. I believe he comes out here and dismantles Almagro rather easily.

Almagro is coming off from a long injury lay off. I don't understand why folks expect his match against Kei to be competitive. :nono

Especially when Almagro said he felt his game wasnt up to compete at Grand Slam level,at one stage he was uncertain if he was going to play the AO.

I guess I haven't done my homework about Nicky A current form. Thanks all for the update

^One day I realized that Almagro's game is pretty to watch, but not that effective. Being a head-case and out of form does not help either...

Nishikori is way too consistent for Almagro and moves significantly better.

Andy is playing an Aussie in R2 and so I expect that he would be placed on RLA on day 3.
I think Rafa will be booted out of RLA as his opponent is weaker than that of Roger's in R2.
I also expect that they would change it up a little bit and schedule Roger for day session
(and Andy vs. Aussie for the night session).

Kei gets the first set 6-4

I just started watching. Nico actually looks pretty good, I just think it's evidence that Kei has hit a different level. Although it sounds like Kei may have just broken back.

Nico is going for every backhand right now...

He was getting them for a minute too. Good shotmaking in this match.
