Bookies put Sinner as a favorite and by a bigger margin than I thought they will.

Look I dont think it is that clear a margin at all, Meddy is a GS champion for starters and he has been in the final at the AO before, experience matters in a GS final, yes he has spent more time on court than Sinner, though we know Meddy wont go away, to me it dosent matter if Jannik has beaten Meddy a few times they have played that has been in a best of 3 tournament, as a Sinner fan, I am not taking Meddy lightly at all A lot of the tennis journalists I have listen to and read their comments on the final are split 50/50

Sinner’s 1st serve is AWOL especially on that service game. Let’s see if he improves that tremendously

Medvedev wins the 1st set, 6-3. he was definitely the more aggressive player in that set.

As for Sinner, he needs to find his 1st serve rhythm first. Ever since that 3rd game, he looked tentative. Long ways to go though

Huge credit for Medvedev for being for aggressive tonight. He didn’t allow Sinner to dictate the rallies.

As for Sinner, he should have increased his aggression once he got rhythm on his serve. The problem was he really couldn’t find his service rhythm and that affected his mindset, a little bit.

To be fair, he kinda has too because he is not as athletic as the Top 3 players. He can’t defend as well as those three players so if he is not serving well, this what happens.

Meddy was shaky there serving for the set. He is getting annoyed by the crowd a little bit who want to see the match and he takes it personal. He better be careful this lead doesn't slip away.

I am actually surprised about the results so far. I am not surprised that Medvedev is winning. But I am more surprised that it is not a competitive match so far. But that’s Tennis like Sinner said.
