Are you referring to Rune?
Agree, he was in the lead 0-5 in the super tie break, let it slip away, Jim Courier believes he has 'conditioning issues" I happen to agree, he had the doctor out and at one stage waved to his team he might retire in the match, continued in the match

Conditioning issues or not, that's all the more reason to go big and get off the court ASAP, not wait for your opponent to make errors. The reality is he got tight and tentative in the lead. Didn't play aggressively to win like he did to get the lead. He'll learn from it and I suspect won't make that mistake again.

It was a error prone match from both players, it was billed as a quality match to watch, it was far from it from both players
Hopefully he will learn from this going forward, when you have a lead and let it go like he did

His lead was much bigger than that in the STB. He was 5-0 and then 6-2.

In June, Ben Shelton was ranked in the 500s and was preparing for his junior year in college
He's now in the Top 50 and a full time pro, into the QFs of his first AO and only 2nd major

Must admit that having been broken while serving for the match at 5-3, and squandering a break in the tiebreak, I suspected Rune would melt down, so it’s impressive how sweet Holger has come back to battle in the tie breaker , overcome MP’s but alas finally lost in 5sets. Most of This board is celebrating ( haters I suspect) as I post but I do like Rublev too.
I was rooting for him, and am quite disappointed he lost, especially after blowing MPs, serving for it, up 5-0 in the TB. Hopefully he’ll learn from this, and not let it stay in his head too long.

Quite frankly I will quickly move on from the Rublev v Rune match, hopefully we will see better quality from players in the QFs, we are coming into the business end of a major, and there has been enough drama with top players losing to opponents they should have defeated, losing the No 1 and No 2 seeds in a few days of each other, has not helped this year's AO.

Maybe, maybe not. There are many players who have not been to a slam R16, let alone a QF before. I pray this is not par for the course, but we just don't know yet.

Well it has been the first time at the AO both the top 2 seeds in the mens and womens seeds have lost before the QFs, that in itself is a record, not a good one either.

As Jim Courier altered to Rune has conditioning issues he needs to address
I think this was obvious in a Paris final against Novak last year. It took him too long to catch a breath between points, but umpire was easy on the shot clock which was good for the match though. If he met Novak here, the serb would probably wear him down physically. Rune needs to grow his lungs, train more, he will be good.

Agree, Jim said he needs to go on a training block, now for his endurance, lung function,. going on the form he showed today, Novak would have beaten him in straight sets, on 'one leg' just joking lol!

De Minaur doesn't have any weapons at all to hurt Novak here. Expecting rather easy victory.
