In Auckland F3 beat Sousa yesterday, Kohli also won.  The play was suspended by rain so I couldn't take a peak at all.  Lots of action today, the play started with Anderson vs Haase.

I hope the Thiem retirement was a precaution, so close to the AO.  Dolgo v. Dimi could be interesting.  Not sure where Dolgopolov's game is these days, or his health, with the strain of travel to the Land Down Under.

Dolgo played quite well in the Hopman Cup, where lost only one match to Kyrgios who was undefeated.

Dolgo will  be unseeded at the AO, someone I would call a typical dangerous floater.

Thanks for that observation, Herios.  I didn't watch any Hopman Cup.  Good point about dangerous floater.  And speaking of:  I didn't want to make a whole thread of it, but Gulbis has fallen off hugely in the last year.  I'm guessing he'll have to qualify for the AO, which could make him another one.

Thanks from me as well herios.  I think I had too much tennis by the end of last season so I took it a bit easy and just watched Doha tournament.  I still like to check the scores and know how players are doing.

I also hope that Thiem retired as a precaution, Moxie.

So Dolgo and Nick K. have played well recently.  They will be dangerous for the top guys.

Gulbis will be in the main draw, he does not need to qualify. He is ranked 78, cut-off was around 100 ranking for the main draw.

The difference will be that Dolgo can be an opponent from R1 to any player. Nuck from R3 only because he will be seeded (ranked 30).

Just checked the scores and Dolgo & Dimi are tied in the 1st set at 4 games.  I am going to catch a bit of it before falling asleep.  Had to get up even earlier this morning to clear the snow off my car, winter fun ;-)

Hey Chewy, what channel are you watching on?</blockquote>
Tennis Channel. I have Time Warner Cable (channel 973) in the US.
You old so and so!  I was just going to bed, then I read this.  Now I'll have to give a look.  ;)

TB between Jo-Wil and F3.  One great point, and mostly hilarity.  Tsonga, by commentators accounts, should be in the locker room, but this could go 3.

EDIT:  Tsonga gets it done.  Fabio flashy and sloppy, by turns, as usual.
