Young Francis Tiafoe just lost his match to Michael Venus in 3. Tiafoe is one that Moose posted a video/article about a while back as a youngster to watch.

I'm rooting for him to do well in future.

16 years old and almost making his main tour debut, not bad. His ranking should move into the top 1000 after that qualifying run. I will keep an eye on him.

Querrey currently a set up on Steve Johnson, 4-3 on serve in the second set.

Awful showings by 2 of the US players who once were seen as the future leaders of the American tennis:

Sela - Young 6-3, 6-0
Smyczek - Harrison 6-0, 6-2

Ginepri defeats Stakhovsky

Too bad he couldnt last a few rounds.. I read on the ATP site Tiafoe was a hitting partner at RG a very good clay court player...;)

Sock will pass Querrey and will be the US #2, which is certainly true based on play in the last year. Sock is also the U21 #2 behind Thiem.

What has happened to Querrey? And Harrison too?

Sock has played well this year, hopefully he can begin to push on into the top 50 now, and hopefully he won't be another Isner and rely on American tournaments like Newport and Atlanta for such a big chunk of his points.

For the record, Sock is not U21, he is exactly 21y old. Same age as Tomic.

True, meant 21 and under. Basing this on the leaderboard at http://www.live-tennis.eu (which calls it U21 :) )
