Nadal is one match win away from drawing level with Vilas (46 titles) for the most Open Era clay court titles.

Where do you think he'll end up? I have little idea, but he won't approach Fed, much less Lendl or Connors! :dodgy:

Nadal still looks slow as hell and Berlocq has the most annoying grunting out of anyone on the ATP tour.

It depends on when he retires I guess,I still think Connors will keep his outstanding record.Remember that the ATP didnt really start till 1972,recording wins etc, wasnt Jimmy winning titles before then? if so,his actual number of wins probably is greater.

It's not the total number of titles. He was talking about the amount of clay titles. Nadal already has way more than 46 titles in total.

If he is mentioning Connors and Lendl, isn't he talking about overall titles? That's what I thought. Unless Connors has more clay titles than I realized!

Fashionista said Rafa is one match away from tying Villas for the record number of clay titles, to which Fiero responded by implying Rafa would never catch Lendl and Connors. I'm pointing out to Fiero that this is irrelevant because Fashionista (whom I mistakenly referred to as a "he" and I apologize) was not talking about the overall number of titles, but clay titles.

No worries about the gender confusion...;)

Berlocq took a set off Nadal at Brazil in 2013.
But 2015 Nadal is greater than 2013 Nadal.

Stop it already.

Maybe he meant older.

You guys will find out sooner or later.
I would take 2015 Nadal over the limping 2013 Nadal.
I mean, 2013 worked out, but Nadal did not look good at all in the South American swing that year, but got by on grit (at Roland Garros too) until he loosened up later in the year to sweep the American hardcourt season.

Although still winning ugly, Rafa is showing progress on the charts. QF in AO, SF in Rio and
now, at least F in BA.

Monaco is Rafa's sometimes doubles partner and will know lot about Rafa's play. He will
probably also have more courage and won't choke. But, he does not have the game to
even get in a position where courage will be needed.

^^ Yeah Nadal is a nightmare match-up for Monaco, especially on clay, and typically Monaco lacks the firepower to trouble him. I'm not sold on Nadal's level one bit but even then I don't see Monaco seriously worrying him.

Vilas can have 49, no worries.

Vilas didn't challenge himself enough! While Borg, Connors, Nastase, Ramirez, and McEnroe are playing Indianapolis, Boston, Toronto, and WCT events, Vilas was playing the "B" tour in Kitzbühel (clay), Washington (clay), Louisville (clay), South Orange (clay), and Columbus (clay)! His streaks are a little misleading if he's only playing the "big boys" at the end in the majors; all w/o meeting Borg! He did nip Connors in '77 at the USO on Hard-Tru, the last year at Forest Hills in the final! :popcorn :nono

I think this will be the first time since 2008 that Fed and Rafa have won a title in the same week

Wow Kitzbühel is a strange word.
Yeah for sure I rate Borg ahead of Vilas.
