The year is early and first slam is already being played.

Are you going to see any live Tennis in 2014?

Last year, during the first year of our website, I pushed my case to become a Tennis Frontier Correspondent. I even attended my first event as a correspondent in New Haven although it wasn't quite official. I also made a cameo appearance in New York at the US Open and saw Vika, Ana and Youzny

For 2014, I have the following plans: I am on the east coast of USA, so I only have a choice of 5-6 events to choose from during the entire year, as a result I looked at the 2014 WTA calender and planned early.

My choices are Miami and Charleston in March (Charleston actually ends in April), Washington DC (my town) in July, Cinncinati, New Haven and finally the US Open which spans between august and September.

I have decided in 2014 I will attend at least 2 events plus US Open. For now, as we are early in the year, I am considering my first event, the choice is between Miami and Charleston, Miami is the farthest from me. I'd have to fly to get there. So I have decided on Charleston because I can drive there and also because of the timing, it fits my schedule better. The bonus for me, this is a WTA only event and that's my specialty.

That leaves the rest of the readers of Tennis Frontier...

Where are you going this year to watch some LIVE Tennis?"

*bump* Kiu was going to post this earlier, but we had things to discuss with our correspondent. So do tell us what you're planning to attend, live. Kiu, it might be fun to post this on the ATP forum, as well. Luxilon Borg is at the Davis Cup in San Diego.

I normally dont have the privileges of having a tennis event close to where I love. I have attended Dubai , Wimbledon and the US Open in the past but this year I wont be attending any event

It is illegal to make love in the stands.

Wonder is Ivanovic's tan in that photo real or fake. Looks much more evenly applied than Azarenka's if it's fake and hers does look painted on imo as her upper body is way paler than her legs. Anyway, Ivanovic looks nice and tanned there fake or not  Ps, no tennis events booked so far this year unfortunately. Just at home.

Sounds like I'm hitting up Cincy. Unbeknownst to me my rich brother in New York decided to get tickets for us already. He went a few days last year and really enjoyed it. And I'm sure he will want to do a week at the USO again but I think if I go to Cincy I'm not going to USO this time.

That's fun! I'll probably manage a couple of days at the USO. I like to go the first week and see lots of players. Or that is, if work doesn't get in the way. (Monte Carlo and RG are my dreams for the future…hopefully while Rafa is still in great form.)

Cool. Great tournament. Would love to be live at a nice fast hardcourt event like that. Let's just hope for a different winner this year, eh ? ;):D

Yep, the grounds passes in week 1 is the way to go unless you want to shell out really big $$ to see the semis/finals. In 09 we did the 4th round mens andwomen QF's for 2 days at Ashe in crappy seats for the same amount of money as Monday - Saturday this past US Open. We went to 1 set of Federer's 2nd round match and the seats were so lousy compared to the other courts that we left. In 09 we didn't know any better.

Agree with you moxie. I have been going to USO every year for many years. Always go in the first week only and enjoy the outer courts. Also see good matches on Grandstand and Armstrong stadium. I don't like Rather Ashe stadium.

Grandstand is definitely the best deal. There is not a bad seat in that place and there are some very good players on there from the start. Court 17 is also very nice.

That is actually unacceptable. Every family member of mine knows ( I make sure they know) when the slams are and not to bother me in any way during those 8 weeks.:nono. They don't get it but I don't care. I am all theirs rest of the year.

Hey Mox, yes, I was at the first day, and I am headed to to day 3.

Of course I also attend Indian Wells as a matter of course, and I fly back to the Open every year, since moving to SoCal in 2004.

NOTHING beats live tennis. Watching Day 1 of DC live, and watching 5 hours of Bryan Brothers practice it is particularly obvious TV does not do ATP level tennis justice!

Ashe stadium is a disgrace. Pure and simple. I grew up going to Armstrong, and Ashe can't hold a candle to the electric atmosphere that used to be palpable in Armstrong.
