According to Potro, the surface was playing as fast as grass. That explains why a grass specialist won the title. Not entirely sure she will do that much better than she has been except on grass.

You mean the really fast grass at Wimbledon? No, wait...that hasn't been fast for a decade. Unless you mean Newport grass which is actually somewhere close to 90's speed grass but that's ATP only I believe so no I dunno what Del Potro was on about to be honest as Wimbledon is not fast these days. Faster in the first week before the grass gets all mangled but still by no means fast. Glad Pironkova won anyway.
