Pironkova will probably lose by the second round of Aussie.

Unfortunately, history reflects these women come out of nowhere, bag a title right before a slam, numerous individuals make the assertion that they should much higher ranked than they are, and how top players should be look out for them, and then totally they fumble any momentum in a major.

According to Potro, the surface was playing as fast as grass. That explains why a grass specialist won the title. Not entirely sure she will do that much better than she has been except on grass.

You mean the really fast grass at Wimbledon? No, wait...that hasn't been fast for a decade. Unless you mean Newport grass which is actually somewhere close to 90's speed grass but that's ATP only I believe so no :) I dunno what Del Potro was on about to be honest as Wimbledon is not fast these days. Faster in the first week before the grass gets all mangled but still by no means fast. Glad Pironkova won anyway.

Congrats to Pironkova in winning your first WTA title.
She dedicated the trophy to her grandfather who has passed away.
May your 2014 continue to blossom.

That was a low key celebration for a first title. Most people would have gone
crazier than that.
