Well. A huge opportunity missed for Pavlyuchenkova. Another slam quarter. Another one lost. Just has that negative "it" factor. Whatever the thing is running around in the back of her mind that won't let her get over the hump. Not just the slam quarter hump. But, for someone with her game, her power, she should have more titles, more wins. She should have spent at least some time in the top 10 (did she at one point, have I forgotten this? I don't think so). Just some mental issue that she has not yet been able to deal with.
But good on Collins. Got better and better as the match went on. A grand slam semifinalist out of nowhere. Still don't think she'll win it. But, she's there. She's got a chance. We've seen her slay the Kerber dragon. Slaying a Kvitova, or even a Barty will be another animal all together though.
