Good read. Probably the correct conclusion too. But confidence is a funny thing. When one gains it, suddenly one feels invincible.
I don't think Andy is ever going to be odds on favorite to win any slams he enters. But that does not mean he will not win one. Draws open up sometimes. In fact, it happens a lot. Just imagine Murray winning Queens next year, going into Wimbledon, building momentum...Roger yet another step slower, Rafa probably not seeing the second week, next gen still trying to figure out grass...
Stranger things have happened.

I generally agree with this. You never know! I would put down more money on Murray than any of the other people that Dude grouped with him. That being said, a lot will depend on where his body is, and his mental state. The guy didn't ever win a slam without Lendl, so it's probably not too likely, even if he nearly fully recovers his old form.

Thanks for your feedback, Horsa.

Hmm, I didn't know the Master's expression was reserved to the Master works only and a mortal like me should not imitate it... A bit disappointing.

This is not just a deliberate spelling mistake (e.g. as in a commercial expression "overnite") but the allusion to Richard's avatar name. So it has a deep emotional meaning, something like "I speak your language here, mate".

Looks like no one used my phrase yet. So I claim it herein, even if it sounds silly. I Iike to make mistakes sometimes when the rules are too boring.
You're welcome.

That wasn't the point I was making. I was making the point that unless you're using the term methinks the language construction is I then your verb.

I get you. I understand. I guess I was just me being too pedantic then.

The rules may be boring but there are lots of different ways of getting round them while still using good English. If you've noticed when I'm struggling to find another sentence with an end word that rhymes with the one I want to use to say what I want I jumble the words round so the sentence still means the same & I get my rhyme. (I got that little trick by reading old poetry like Chaucer's Canterbury tales.) I've also written a couple of unconventional sonnets. By unconventional I mean that whereas sonnets are normally 14 line poems about love with an abab cdcd efef gg rhyme scheme i.e they consist of 3 rhyming quatrains followed by a rhyming couplet, mine aren't about love but horses & music & mine still have 14 lines which consis of 3 rhyming quatrains followed by a rhyming couplet. You might prefer blank or free verse then as it's not as constricted. I don't though I've had a go once or twice & use alliteration in my blank/free verse. I prefer rhyme as I think it's beautiful & think in rhyme sometimes. I'm not a big blank/free verse fan.

Murray way overplayed 2016 when he got to YE #1, that was an insane half year hardourt season. It was as if Davydenko was winning every week and continuing to play.

To note:after winning Wimbledon on Grass: Olympics(W) Cincinnatti(F) US Open (QF), Davis Cup(1-1), Bejing (W), Shanghai(W)_ Vienna(W) , Paris(W) , WTF,(W)

Vienna is the one that kills me...Sandwich that between 3 Masters, all of which he won?

More than his style of play, which is bad enough, IMO it was that schedule; he may never recover from the pounding his body took that summer/fall.

Was it worth to him? only he can answer that question, but so far he's the only #1 YE player outside of Fedalovic in the last 14 years....

Point 2 is poor & to add Murray with Stanimal or del Potro is wrong,he's won far more than both these guys.

Excellent post. Perhaps you could write a piece on that!

That's a lot of info about poetry in general. Thank you very much!
