He's still got that rivalry with Pete in the blood!

Exactly. If Pete won 28 majors - 4 of each! - Agassi would be first to tell us how "different class" Roger is to him. Makes a sensible point about Nadal, though...

Agreed that Andre isn't exactly impartial when it comes to Pete. However, seeing as Pete didn't win 28 majors, and "only" 14, compared to Roger's 17, on all surfaces, Andre's point about Roger being "a different class" holds a little more merit.

Not really. It reminds me of Agassi saying Roger was the best ever after the US Open final in 2005. When it comes to Pete, Dre is a bit anti. Just a teensy bit. It's not noticeable, but it's there...

not really how? Pete always talked about the majors and Fed has equalled or bettered in every one of them, 3 majors make a great career for 99%+ of players. Sure for you Pete fans, anything and everything is anti if anybody ever rates anyone above Pete. Perhaps you are anti-Fed ever thought of that? :)

Again, I agree that he's almost always unfair when it comes to Sampras. But again, this isn't 2005. And Federer no longer has 6 slams to his name. He's got 17. So the argument has more merit. Not sure how that can be answered with "not really." 17, with a career slam, makes a case for a player being a "class apart" from another who won 14 slams, with one major missing. This is not meant to revisit the GOAT debate, but rather, it is to tackle Agassi's point, which, however the motivation, is plausible.

Well, "not really" holds quite adequately, unless you're silly enough to believe in a GOAT. And even more silly to think that Agassi was ever objective or fair in a reply to a question involving Pete. There's another vid there where he replies with an unnecessary jeer when asked about their relationship. More interesting still is the reply about his father, where he comes across as gracious, though having read Agassi's book - and enjoyed it immensely, it's "different class" as a sports book - I think the apple didn't fall far from the tree called Mike Agassi...

I am. As were most Pete fans before Federer broke his record. Curiously enough, that's when "no such a thing as GOAT" first picked up some steam.

I don't.

50% isn't a bad ratio for ya there, brother! ;)

If Pete cured cancer, Agassi would say there's better things in life. That's what I'm saying, though of course, if Agassi cured cancer, Kieran would say there's...
