Vika will likely not be competitive at Wimby given her foot problem. Sad to hear the news. I am thinking she should tweak her game to shorten points to protect her body.

I wonder how long Sam will stay on coaching Bouchard and whether she has regrets leaving Saviano since Sloane is starting to play well.
When you have companies throwing money at you left and right you have no desire to fight for anything on court and that's Bouchard's problem.

We need a sports psychologist STAT....

I'm really sad to see her slumping THAT much - must be terrible for her. It's her 7th loss in a first match in a tournament in 2015. She doesn't deserve that IMHO.

I hope Lisicki wins a Wimby title. It was sad watching her crumble under the pressure against Bartoli.

I don't want Lisicki winning anything of note until she can put together a solid season.

I'm with you on that. It's why Li Na used to drive me crazy in Australia. She would she used to show up for 3 weeks in Australia do spectacularly well and then disappear. Even when she won RG it wasn't a build it up on clay it was sudden. I can't stand that kind of inconsistency.

I'm sad to see it also. I really was hoping she would finally be a young player we could watch get better and better. She can at least hope her story is a bit like Sloane's and that once she hits absolute rock bottom and expectations are back at 0 she can begin to rebuild. Their stories are similar. They both kind of always showed up just for slams. They both had big buzz. Then when they started losing they both just seemed to not care all that much.

I mean I like Lisicki's game, but I am not a big fan of players who show up here and there. It isn't good for the game to have someone win and be a star at one key place and just die a slow tennis death the rest of the year. There isn't any reason why Lisicki shouldn't be making at least QF consistently.

Exactly and they end up being spoilers in the draw. Theres always a good chance that a high seed who is more consistent is going to have to face Lisicki before the 4th round.

I went yesterday nice tournament ! The court is a lot smaller than I thought the tv makes the court look huge . It was a shame Ivanovic lost a close match . De brito played well and never gave up . Bouchard looked quite low felt sorry for her , expected her to win the 3rd set but to lose it 6-0 was disappointing . Mladenovic played very well though . Lisicki's serve was amazing 16 aces in 1 set that finished 6-1 is quite incredible . Bencic seems really nice she played well and as much as I like Lisicki I was kinda hoping for a third set as I wanted more tennis ! Shame Azarenka was injured as I was looking forward to her match hopefully her injury is not serious . Anyway would really recommend attending the tournament if you can .

Well well well... Halep and Suarez Navarro in the QFs. They seem eager to right their ships after RG letdowns. I hope Halep isn't becoming an "anywhere but slams" player.
