Svitolina should get through, but I'm not sure about the others, given the nerves and pressure.

You know, I was thinking the same thing yesterday but apparently Camila was thinking otherwise.

I also thought Vika would advance....

Giorgi is one of my favorite unpredictables.

She unpredictably retired today, but I'm following Ashleigh Barty here, so good that it propels her into the semis. Coco retired also - although I think it was more of a precautionary retirement so she'll be OK for Wimbledon.

Mugu still not playing all that well. Before Coco rolled her ankle it was looking like another straight set loss for Garbine. Coco was bossing her just like in Aus.

I guess you could make allowances for Garbine dipping a bit after she won the FO but she certainly hasn't risen back up. I know she's had a few niggling injuries but got to say she's been a disappointment over the last year.

I'm hoping for a Kvitova v. Muguruza final.

Possible, but Ash is playing well and she won't be tired as she only played a few games today before the retirement. Besides, Petra is rounding into form nicely. She will be very tough to beat in the final and at Wimby

@the AntiPusher Venus will be ready for Wimby. I heard an interview w/ her coach they did in Aus and he talks about her schedule. They like to take 3-4 weeks off and then she plays for 3 straight weeks.

Contenders for Wimby: Petra, Venus, Pliskobot and a couple of young guns.

Any news on Vee? If she does S and V at least 60 percent of the time, she is gonna make this tournament harder to win than needed
Vee doesnt play these tune up events, she goes directly to the event.I am a bit worried that they will throw the kitchen sink at her to stop her from winning...bad scheduling, court assignment and all the nonsense they do to her..even if she doesnt win I am hoping for an unknown to win...or Kerber to finally win Wimbledon..dont forget Lisicki catches fire at Wimbledon every year...
just imagine if Ostapenko wins Wimbledon..

Results from the Birmingham Classic Women's Singles Semifinal matches on Saturday

Big win for Ash Barty. What a great week for her. Don't fancy her chances in the final though... gotta favour Petra.

Not fan of Garbine @tossip? Lol.

I didn't think she beat Mugu, I didn't think she'll have much of a chance against Petra but she took a set.
You called it.

Petra serving for the match.
