Rafa has to move in on the Querrey 2nd serve. Too cautious.

Nice title by Sam, a string of wins over decent players capped by a win over Rafa. :clap

This surely does not portend well for Rafa, at least for the NA masters of March.

If he has a great clay season, it is possible that he may pick up momentum from there.

I don't think Rafa will win either IW or M.

Credit to Querrey to play so well and consistent, congrats!
Rafa? to rest a little bit and hope to see him doing much better in IW than in this final :s
This is the second final he has lost this year, hope his nerves are not doing some damage to his confidence in the most crucial moments and Moya can give him a good help and advice and I'm sure he will do something good in IW or Miami

Neither do I! If he's never won Miami before, why should that change now? :nono  :dodgy:

Rafa moved to no. 2 in the race rankings and Sam Querrey came from no. 73 to no. 8. Sam will need to show real consistency to retain his place here.

I think he will look back now at his two loses of the year..both times he was outplayed..simple as that..

And both times he should have won but.....again, I think when he can see any win close he is getting paralyzed like he looked in this match and in the fifth set in the AO, it means he is playing with too much nerves that he should control better. If he would win IW or Miami then it would be a very diferent story

Congrats to Querrey, very well played and consistent.
Hope Moya helps Rafa to control his nerves to avoid to play so paralyzed like he looked in this final. This is the second final that he has lost this year and in very similar way

These two defeats will come back to haunt him later on, essentially destroying his confidence.
