Hey all,
I know this should go in one of the World Affairs or Odds & Ends forums, but given that this is probably the most trafficked part of the site and where most of the "usual suspects" hang out, I thought I'd post here.
I just wanted to voice my appreciation to all (and yes, all) of you for years of great--and often heated--discussions. I've (mostly!) enjoyed my time as a member of this community, and hope to continue enjoying years more with you. There have been ups and downs, lots of debates and arguments, and we've all had our kerfuffles with each other over this great sport. Hey, its all good! It is all in the spirit of being tennis fans and human beings with a shared interest and passion.
Please take care of yourselves and take the recommended precautions. I would also add, please practice a healthy lifestyle to support your immune systems, including but not limited to getting plenty of sleep, eating well, reducing or eliminating alcohol (gasp!) and sugar (ugh), getting exercise and sun, etc. I would also suggest that you be kind to others, appreciate what you have, and enjoy the little moments of life that we all take for granted.
I just wanted to say that in times like this--a true global crisis--it is important to recognize the underlying bonds that we all share, from our shared love of tennis--or whatever communities we are part of--to the very fact of being human and life forms on this planet. Be well all, and hope to see you around the forums in the coming days, weeks, and years.
Best regards,
Jonathan (El Dude)
