Quite frankly I dont know if Iga Swaitek teaming up with Wim Fissette was a good idea?
To me she has to get back to the basics of her game, using more top spin on her fhand and working in the rallied, now she's just ball bashing and aiming for the lines on every point? Iga plays Linda Noskova next a player she has had trouble with in the past, defeating her at the AO,
BTW that has to be one of the worst matches of the year Swiatek v Eala, I wont be rewatching that match 'Ever"
Iga W 40 UFE 57 Eala W 16 UFE 47 Ugh!
Eala has to get a 'serving coach' for starters, I dont know why they didnt correct or try to improve her serve at the Rafa academy

Gauff has righted the ship in the 2nd set over Yastremska winning 62
Going 3 and hopefully Gauff has woken up and out of the doldrums
Help!
Gauff serving for the match, broken her serve letting her down, back on serve 5 all in the 3rd set
Coco now has a second chance to serve out the match at 6-5
Gauff d Yastremska ( it wasnt pretty at all ) 06 62 75

I chuckled to myself when I read this,

Naomi Osaka has taken a wild card into WTA125 Saint-Malo tournament :) maybe she has woken up to the fact, you cant just turn up for a WTA1000 event and win matches, have to do the preparation beforehand!
either that or she's reading our stuff

I have to laugh, this is the 2nd time today I am on a roll :)
Sascha Bajin, Donna Vekic's new coach, posted on social media, and complained that,
'its been a few times now there isnt even a post about her winning, just curious!

One hour before play today in Madrid, Paula Badosa withdrew, citing her back issues again, thought she would be okay to play at her home tournament, sadly her back has played up again., her ongoing back issues have plagued Badosa for nearly 2 years.
LL Christina Bucsa will move into Badosa's draw to play Veronika Kudermetova today

Zheng (8) continues to have a 'horrid season' losing to Potapova 64 64, currently outside Top 30 in the race
Other seeds that lost today,
Putintseva (22) Anisimova (15) Jabeur (26) Linette (29)

BTW Maria Sakkari on a roll after getting back with former coach Tom Hill has won 2 consecutive matches, since the Olympics! ( I hope I havent put the 'hex' on her)

Good to see Jasmine Paolini playing with a lot of confidence so far in the clay season!
Just dropped 3 games against Boulter 61 62!

Tough draw for Andreescu getting Rybakina in her 2nd round match though that is the way the cookie crumbles in these WTA1000 when you are not seeded ( also in WTA tour events) and havent played since October last year, also with an emergency appendix operation in February this year, though seeing it was just her 3rd match back, Andreescu didnt play too badly, appears to have lost some weight as well, though she can cut out 'the over use of moon balls' :)
Seeing this is Rybakina's first clay tournament, the conditions in Madrid does suit her game
Well played Rybanina seeing it was her first match on clay for the season winning 63 62

Mark Petchy needs to take note, he is the care taker coach of Emma at present, Raducanu wins a couple of matches then has long training block to her disadvantage
The key to build your match play and of course improve your ranking, you cant build your game with long training blocks you need to play tournaments on a consistent basis.
Raduncanu lost today to the Drama Queen Kostyuk, who carried on like she just won Madrid ( it was a 2nd round match btw)
