Wow, seems like no one cares about the ladies! I woke up rather late to find Gauff was upset by that little Italian fireplug, Jasmine Paolini! Will probably catch the repeat later after the Pickleball's over on TCC! Straight sets too; DONE! Wow! I heard comments yesterday musing about Coco getting to #2 in the world! Is she legit or is IGA gonna step back up in Paris? :astonished-face::face-with-hand-over-mouth::fearful-face::yawningface:
Seeing you dont watch the womens tour I suggest you start watching before making your usual " Nonsensical Statements" regarding the WTA Tour!
Rinse and Repeat!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is a post from Jasmine Paoline via her social media account,

" I used to come here as a little girl just to watch, now I'm holding the trophy. What a dream. Thanks to my amazing team, family, friends and fans.
Huge respect to Coco. And yes, we've still got the doubles final tomorrow" Forza!

I'm happy for Jaz. She really needed that title. Hasn't collected one since Dubai last year. This will do wonders for her confidence. I like Jaz's chances to lift a slam trophy the same as I did before. She needs a few things in the draw to happen and never say never.

If you asked folks at the beginning of Rome who would be holding the trophy today, no one would have selected her. They all would have picked the top 3, teen queen etc.

Jazz has really come into her own today,, a lot of people were saying last years results were a 'fluke' she played a wonderful tactical game against Coco from the start to the end of the match.
Jazz will be seeded no 4, pushing Iga to No 5 for Roland Garros
I have put Jazz as one of my contenders for Roland Garros after her performances throughout the tournament in Rome and she still has the doubles to play tomorrow

Coco Gauff is still feeling confident heading to Paris,
" I made the final with lots of errors, maybe not playing my best tennis. It just gives me confidence if I can find that good form heading into Roland Garros.I can do well there".

Another Wow! Jasmine completed the double by taking the Dubs w/ "old lady" Errani! Back in the day it was common for players to win both events; now a rarity since the days of Serena, Hingis, & Venus! Mon Dieu, what is Sara still doing out there? She was winning over a decade ago w/ an even older now Roberta Vinci who upset Serena Wms. in the 2015 USO SF (stopped CYGS)! :fearful-face::face-with-hand-over-mouth::astonished-face::yawningface:

Congratulations to Jasmine Paolini and Sara Errani winning the doubles title in Rome for the 2nd year in a row defeating Mertens? Kudermetova 64 75
They are the first womens doubles duo to win the title back to back in the Open Era!
Jasmine Paolini becomes the first woman to win both the singles and doubles titles in Rome since Monica Seles in 1990
Jasmine is also the 2nd woman to win both singles and doubles title in a WTA 1000 event since Vera Zvonareva in 2009!
