According to him, he doesn't need a coach so why is he asking anybody anything? Yesterday he was asking the box where he should serve against Fucs.Novak asking guys from his box to tell him where to stand on return. Dude, you have 2 dozen grand slams, I think you have a pretty good idea where to stand.

Blaming Amelie LOL! for exacerbating his knee issues, putting him on in the middle of the night? your such a treatIt's an imaginary crutch! Novak just wants a fresh ear to bend as he rants & raves while trying to survive the last gasps of his career! He proved he can surprise us w/ OG last yr.! He even got to the final of Wimbledon! He shocked us all w/ a great run at Miami this season! Ya just never know! His current form won't do it! Today's players are killers who just go mindless, red-lining all the way to overpower him! Hopefully Amelie won't go brain dead putting him on in the middle of the fk'n nite exacerbating his knee injury in last yr.'s French Open!![]()
As I said, there will be weeks when Novak is on top form, like at Wimbledon, the Olympics, and Miami. During those weeks, he will be a contender to win. However, there will be weeks now when Novak just doesn't have it, and will drop out in the first round. It's an imaginary crutch! So far vs Norris he's looking ok! Won the 1st set 6-4, serving high %, but dropped serve in the 2nd early! I missed the opening games! Did they mention at all the tête-à-tête between these 2? It was at the Italian Open a couple yrs. ago! Norris was feeling himself, had defeated Alcaraz in Rio earlier that Sping, & thought he could get away w/ hitting Novak w/ his overhead smash right at him; back of the legs really as the point had been conceded! Novak has all kinds of incentive to continue his dominance over this clown! As I said, there will be weeks when Novak is on top form, like at Wimbledon, the Olympics, and Miami. The question is will Norrie and Hubie laydown to give Djoker 100? So far the Brit is onboard and we know HH can't return to save his life. I'd say it looks good for your boy to get 100.
Well granted he gets 100 tomorrow, he'll need to replicate this same effort for 3 more years. And if he stays in top 10, he's limited w/ how many 250's he can playNovak is suprisingly switched on from the first match in Geneva and looks like her cares and wants to win. Final against Hurkacz on clay, what more can he ask for a 100th title shot again?
I don't think he will stop until he at least passes Federer who has 103 titles. Even if it means vulturing in Switzerland on a 250 tournament a week before a grand slam.
True, there is a limitation to 250s. If he wins 100th tomorrow, another title somewhere this year would help a lot if he truly has a goal to pass Fed. The thing is, he barely plays serious anywhere except the slams these days and time is ticking, until he won't be able to win a title even at the lowest level tournaments.Well granted he gets 100 tomorrow, he'll need to replicate this same effort for 3 more years. He will have those numbers in mind, 103 and 109, but I don't believe he'll stick around for that, if he's not getting the results at the Majors. Once he gets #100, which very well may be tomorrow, he's in a small group already.True, there is a limitation to 250s. I absolutely don't believe he doesn't care. But finding motivation when you've achieved practically everything, (certainly everything that matters,) and at 38, is understandably difficult. But, with RG around the corner, and Wimbledon looming, he got some rest, recharged, and found his game again. I agree he won't be reaching for 109. He may still feel that passing Fed is doable. But it's not going to get him out of bed in the morning, IMO.I just can't believe Novak's thinking much about breaking Connors' record of 109 titles! After OG, his lack of motivation is evident as he's just floated around, not really trying that hard until a major comes along! There are a few attainable records that seems to me he just doesn't care! He needs 1 more FO to have 4 Career GS's, 1 Monte Carlo Masters to get to 3rd Golden Masters, & the aforementioned 109 titles was more attainable last yr,! Time's run out & I can't imagine him wasting his time at a bunch of 250 events to even get past Roger's 103! He only played Geneva to get some extra practice in! It's obviously paid off as he's picked up his serving % & got some real roadwork in just these 3 match wins! He obviously couldn't care less last season as he went w/o a title outside of Gold Medal!![]()
Sorry I dont think his chances improved by making the final, at Geneva, I know it is a ATP250, still I dont like his physicality, maybe okay to win a best of 3, on clay at RG best of 5 my answer is no, and he does have a favorable draw, along with AlcarazI absolutely don't believe he doesn't care. The problem isn't just motivation...it's his age. While his chances to do well at RG have improved this week in everyone's estimation, I'm sure, he's still far from the favorite. It will be interesting to see how he fares over the next 5-6 weeks, at RG and Wimbledon.
