16 kilos is a lot to a person who has nothing. I hope he’s not in financial difficulty, but he’s definitely wasting time there…
$16,000 is a lot, if you have it, and don't lose some to tax, and don't pay 1/2 back out in travel expenses. And that's assuming he has no staff (coach, physio.) This is tennis, not a desk job. If he's doing it to keep his hand in until the body gives out, fine. That's up to him. If he's in it for the money, I'd say he's not making that work.

Career he's made almost $19 million. And Flavia made over $14 million. It would be sinful if they were broke. I have to think he's playing for gambling money and the adrenaline.

I hope you’re right. It’s a suitable way for him to end his career…

In case anyone is wondering, here's the schedule for clay season:

GRAND SLAM, Masters, ATP 500, ATP 250

Mary 31: Houston, Marrakesh, Bucharest
April 7: Monte-Carlo
April 14: Barcelona, Munich
April 21: Madrid
May 5: Rome
May 19: Hamburg, Geneva
May 26: ROLAND GARROS

And of course there's Bastad, Gstaad, Kitzuhel, and Umag in July.

Looks like Fonseca isn't playing. I guess he doesn't want to go through qualifications, though with it being a draw of 56, I'd like ranked #59 and with withdrawals he'd get into the main draw. Maybe he'll play in Barcelona, Madrid and Rome?

From what I read Fonseca was to have some time off not surprised he is not playing MC, is taking a break after Miami, then a training block
I have read he is playing Madrid, probably will play Rome before RG

Flavio Cobolli arrived in Bucharest with 8 consecutive tour level losses and leaves the city with his first career ATP title defeating Baez in the final 64 64
A big talent, he will rise to No 36 in the rankings on Monday, six places shy of his career high.

Luciano Darderi won his 2nd ATP title Grand Prix Hassan 11 defeating top seed Tallon Griekspoor 76(3) 76 (4), Darderi will be back in the Top 50 on Monday

A good day for Italy!

That's the 2nd or 3rd final this year Baez has lost. He must be gassed (mentally and physically) by the time he reaches the finals

Agree, though I really thought Baez would win as Cobolli came into the tournament with 8 consecutive losses, still he held his nerve when it mattered and won his maiden ATP title
