Zverev was all over Nadal like a rash at RG 2022. It's something no one will ever know because of his unfortunate ankle injury. For sure Zverev is a choker. He got extremely lucky against Griekspoor. 4-1 down in set 5 and won.
Zverev was playing very well in that match. Don't mistake an early rush of blood for a sustained victory. He had done nothing to prove he could keep it up. I think he got lucky today that Ruud was ill. As you say, he barely survived Griekspoor.

From the highlights though Ruud was still belting seven shades of shit out of the ball and didn't look too out of sorts at all.

Forget about Zverev-Nadal at 2022 RG, the bigger what-if is Philippoussis vs. Sampras at 1999 Wimbledon. Unlike Zverev (who was trailing at the time of stoppage), Philippoussis was actually up.
