Rune has appointed a former Danish player in Kenneth C
Before the latest round of churn, the inimitable Craig Shapiro spoke with Holger’s mother Aneke Rune. And … yeah. There’s clearly a lot going on here. Extra, as the kids say. This camp could use an organizational psychologist to sort out roles, logistics and workplace dynamics.
Jon Wertheim had this, related, to say, in his "Mailbag," which I thought was of interest here:

"Before the latest round of churn, the inimitable Craig Shapiro spoke with Holger’s mother Aneke Rune. And … yeah. There’s clearly a lot going on here. Extra, as the kids say. This camp could use an organizational psychologist to sort out roles, logistics and workplace dynamics.

All that said, I’ve always had a hard time ginning up outrage for Rune. What’s the worst thing you can say about him? He’s unapologetically ambitious? He sometimes acts his age (20)? He gets more bothered than he should by yutzes and putzes on social media? I see a talented player making his way. This is not a critique, but he is flanked by a hyperattentive mother who is not exactly the Danish equivalent of a shrinking violet."

BTW, I have enjoyed Wertheim's tennis "Mailbag" on Sports Illustrated, but not enough to pay for a subscription. Now, if you just email him, he'll send it to you weekly. It's free, and often has interesting links.

Carlos Alcaraz, defending champion ( with a very unfortunate hair cut) returns to Buenos Aires winning in straight sets over Carabelli 62 75
I saw it. Charly ran hot and cold. Down the early break in each set, with UFE's in bunches, and failed to serve it out at first try in the second. But not terrible, (except for the haircut, as you mentioned.) Reasonable rust and change to clay. Carabelli, for his part, played some good tennis, but his serve was too weak for him to back up his breaks.

Thanks Moxie I also read Jon Wertheims mail bag and he does have some interesting points of view, also the one with Craig Shapiro who spoke with Holger's mother Aneke Rune, I think the best thing she has done was to step down as his manager and let IMG now manage him

Jensen Brooksby had his suspension for missing 3 drug tests reduced from 18 months to 13 months. He can resume playing in March
He deserves to serve his full sentence, and he is one of those entitled players that are just unlikeable, and the US Davis Cup will add two to their roster.Shelton and Brooksby are a match made in Fratboy heaven.

I was shocked and majorly pissed off to hear his sentence was reduced. What sort of message does that send out? Just dope cos they won't do make you serve a full sentence anyway?! I just hope Halep isn't back soon. Biological passport irregularities and using medication for endurance needs proper punishment.

Alex de Minaur avenges the Australian Open loss to defeat Rublev 76(5) 46 63 to reach the SFs at Rotterdam for the first time
Alex will return to the Top 10 on Monday and will face Dimitrov in the SFs tomorrow

Bad luck to Milos injuries again injury forced him to retire in the 2nd set against Sinner ( right hip injury)
Sinner wins by retirement 76(4) 1-1 2nd set
That was Sinner's 200th win, not a great way to earn it, seeing his opponent had to retire.
BTW Jannik is the first player born since 2000 to win 200 ATP tour matches
Sinner will play Griekspoor in the SF

I will just SB Alcaraz QF match against Vavassori, ( I still cant get over that 'unfortunate hair cut)
Alcaraz wins 76(1) 61 to move to a perfect 6-0 in Buenos Aires

Alcaraz continues to improve. Some hiccups on serve, but more that a bit of up-side.

Quick fact: IF both Taylor Fritz and Alex De Minaur win their matches tomorrow, then Stefanos Tsitsipas will be out of the Top 10 rankings for the 1st time since February 2019!
You were right! Both Fritz and De Minaur won their matches, and, in the live rankings, Tsitsipas moves to #11.

Finally. He doesn't deserve to be in top 10 for a while now. There are players who play better and actually work hard to get there.

I watched second half of the 1st set. He struggled a bit on the return, made some uncharacteristic mistakes, some UEs from the baseline too, but overall I think he is getting there with his game. He needs to win this tournament to gain back much needed confidence. I think he has eyez on the prize and should win this, been a while since he held a trophy.

Alex de Minaur d Grigor Dimitrov SF at Rotterdam 64 63,
Last year at this very tournament Alex had MPs and lost against Grigor
Today is Alex birthday, a nice little gift to himself, making the final at Rotterdam, he awaits the winner of Sinner - Griekspoor

Interesting fact,
Seeing Tsitsipas leaves the ATP Top Ten, first time ever there will no one-handers in the Top Ten! when the new rankings come out on Monday
