I thought Luthi would be a good mix with Becker, for Rune, that didnt last long did it :) due to the fact Luthi could not commit to the scheduling of Rune for the rest of 2024,
I will be interested to hear the thoughts from 'Lomaha' regarding Rune, does he think a new coach is the answer

This is pure instinct, but I don't love the idea of Becker for Rune. I don't see two hot-heads making one cool one. I'll be happy to be wrong, though.
And what about announcment of Luthi, only to show him the door after a few weeks? Even if Luthi could not travel full time, he was still a great addition and the young man could keep him for the time being.

I was going to mention Coric on the "buy/sell" thread, as to players not mentioned. I know he's had a lot of struggles with injury, which is unfortunate. Some around here with remember a poster Jesuslookslikeborg, who touted him from early on. If he can get beyond injury, he's 27, and still has time to make more of his talents.
I don't know. He doesn't have a real weapon in his game to win slams, me thinks, but I'm still hoping he can go deep in a slam one day, let's say semifinal. Not sure if it is only injuries, to me it looks like a motivation issues too. He can play great and inspired tennis for a week or two and then dissapear for the next few months.

A 3rd title over the past 52 weeks.Bublik is the ATP250 Montpellier champion for the 2nd time out of the last 3 years and comes back from a set down for the 4th time out of 4 matches played this week. 57 62 63 vs Borna Coric
Bublik becomes the first man to win an ATP title after losing the 1st set in every match played from the start of the tournament. Bold history for Bublik!

I read a report on Rune's retirement in his match against Coric in Montpellier. Rune went into the match with a sore arm.The trainer said he could play on unless his pain increased, he did that, but it was 2 games from the finish for Coric. He was booed as he walked off the court, but the fans had been cheering for him earlier.Fitness still remains a problem for Rune.

Daniil Medvedev has withdrawn from Rotterdam, where he is defending champion, working to get back for Doha/Dubai, where he is defending both titles, says his agent.

Boris Becker via Twitter has stepped down as the head coach of Holger Rune, I have posted his full explanation on the Holger Rune post.

Apparently Saudis are going to host some kind of all star/top 6 players BS tournament in October. Needless to say, they offered plenty money.

I was saw that yesterday, havent had time to read all of it, isnt there a couple of big tournaments in the ATP tour around that time eg Masters? of course money talks, I guess it was only a matter of time.

Shanghai ends on 7th Oct. Then there are 3 250s on 14th Oct. They will probably squeze it around that time, mid October. 21st Oct is Wienna+Basel.

I was thinking of the Paris Masters though that starts towards the end of October into November.

It's apparent, the Saudis think they can buy their way to World-wide respectability! I barely keep up w/ Dubai & Qatar events! Unfortunately for them, I have a long memory & all they'll end up doing is running off true fans & MOI that won't allow their "blood $$" to buy into the future of tennis! I'll probably only give the ATP 2 or 3 more seasons before jumping off the wagon since 1973! It was a long run, but not sure I can support a sport under new management/sponsorship! :face-with-head-bandage: :astonished-face: :fearful-face:

What in the world has happened to Musetti, FAA, & Korda? They just can't get too far into a draw these days! The losses are piling up in str. sets! ;)
Put a fork in FAA because he has already peaked and the only way to go is down.He doesn't have the belief and fire to win big events.Korda at least tries and Musetti needs time to mature. At least FAA is nonproblematic unlike Shelton the jerk.

Who is Ryan Harrison coaching in Dallas?if he is coaching Shelton then it's a marriage made in heaven, they would be competing on who is the biggest jerk.
As far as I am aware Shelton's dad Brian is still coaching his son. Ben is on court at present against Aussie Jordan Thompson
Thompson who looks soo much better that he has grown a beard with that porn looking mustache, plays a near perfect TB against Ben, winning 76(2) 1st set

Just looking at Jannik Sinners draw at Rotterdam, he is the top seed, as Meddy has withdrawn,

Jannik's first round opponent is Botic van de Zandschulp lol! same opponent he faced in his first round match at the AO
