Especially the British Press who can be brutal, look what they did to Murray before he won Wimbledon. My concern is that she has not played a warm up tournament prior to Wimbledon due to injury, and the fact she did turned up to Court No 1 to practice and left? does cast a bit of a shadow that is all.
Latest news is she is ok & ready to go. I read she had already practised in the morning, so skipped the court 1 practice so she didn't over do it. Looks like the injury has improved as the week has gone on which is positive :)

Sighting of Venus Williams at Wimbledon, maybe she is here to support her younger sister at Wimbledon or there is still time for Venus to play mixed doubles at Wimbledon,
Just saw via twitter Venus practicing on grass.

Serena Williams was asked in her presser "What does if feel like to be at Wimbledon without Patrick M?
Serena said, " Oh my.I didn't really think about it.I'm having a wonderful time here and just didn't think about it.

Serena also said " I didn't retire I took time to heal physically and mentally" ahead of Wimbledon.

Simona Halep says in her Wimbledon presser that she now sees her panic attack at the French as 'a good thing------something I can learn from"
Says she was bummed not to open on Centre court ( Halep was the 2019 Wimbledon champion), but suggests she will 'have another chance in this lifetime'
Halep knows the danger of Karolina Muchova in her first round match.

Iga Swiatek in her presser said she didnt have a lot of time to practice on the grass, she feels strongly that the decision not to play a warm up event on grass was the right one for her. ( Swiatek wons the girls singles title at Wimbledon in 2018).
BTW last year at Wimbledon, then world no 1 Ash Barty stepped in for an absent defending champion and went on to win the title
Will Iga Swiatek repeat the same feat?

Very last minute, but a reminder to those who play or want to, to get in your picks for the Draw Challenge before start of play tomorrow!

Tuning into Ons Jabeur v Mirjam Bjorklund who happens to be Denis Shapo's g/friend, Kim Cljisters is one of the commies on the match.Shapo is in the stands watching his g/f.
Ons having no trouble against the Qualifer Bjorklund wins the 1st set 61.Happy to see her movement is fine, no trouble with the knee that forced her to retire in her doubles match with Serena Williams at Eastbourne

Good opening first match for Ons Jabeur d Bjorkland (Q) 61 63
Good to see her movement was fine, no sign of the knee injury that forced her to retire in her doubles match with Serena Williams at Eastbourne

Agree, her opponent plays well on grass. Also this will get the press off her back.:)
It's good too see her smiling & laughing in the interview she seems relaxed, doesn't seem to be feeling the pressure of expectation. I imagine some of the press are disappointed she won ;)

Kaja Juvan defeats Beatriz Haddad Maia 64 46 62....bit of an upset seeing how well Beatriz was playing on the grass with 2 titles on grass

Well, there goes MY draw! :astonished-face: She has been playing so well! I'd say it was more than a "bit of an upset." I don't even know Juvan.
