It has to help having been there before, and to have won. Ons carries a lot of weight of expectation, but I think she'll be less nervous next final, and she'll get a Major, I have to think.

I hope so. She may be a Halep or Murray type, where she loses 4 finals before she wins one.

For what it's worth, the bookies "special" was Swiatek to win 2-0 OR Jabeur to win 2-1 but they had a TINY cap on it which I presumed was a giveaway which it indeed was that these were the presumed possible outcomes. Odds were rubbish on Swiatek simply to win and only way to make more there was to back her to win with a -2.5 or -3.5 game handicap both of which would have come in 'cos she won by a margin of 5 games.

After an exiting second set Iga wins her 3rd slam - congrats but you were challenged in the second where Ons woke up

I hope she's not. Halep I have no sympathy for (sorry). Murray more. I think Ons can find her calm in a final...hopefully next one. Murray had some stiff competition.

She was calm during the match, but those firecrackers just scared her. :face-with-tears-of-joy:
