Ben Rothlesburg (sp?) of the NYTimes says that Alex Dolgopolov has also taken up arms in defense of Ukraine.
Yes I also read that about Alex as well....soo sad.Ben Rothlesburg (sp?) of the NYTimes says that Alex Dolgopolov has also taken up arms in defense of Ukraine.
Nick Kyrgios awarded a wild card into River Oaks tournament in Houston April 2-10
I still find it strange that he will play a clay tournament in the US....though he will not play clay in Europe? I know he hates clay,he also said he will play full grass season. Was there any doubt? I thought it was a done deal when they mentioned it yesterday during the match w/ Rafa! He's staying in the States instead of going to Europe to play their clay season! Playing this well he should win to tell you the truth! He won't have too much trouble w/ the US players!
IMO, this is not an oversight. Wertheim addressed the issue of the IW unbalanced draw, and said that when the draw was being made, Djokovic should have withdrawn, and that not doing it was "not cool." Now that Novak has said that he can't come to the US due to visa issues, Miami can either withdraw his name, unilaterally, or they can email him and say something like: Respond to this email within 24 hours or you will be withdrawn from the tournament. Whatever, but this is a "fool me once" situation.I hope this is just an oversight from the organizers at Miami Open
Novak Djokovic name is still on the players list
They play qualifers in less than 24 hours and the main draw is on March 21st at 12.30pm local time
Problem is the Michael Ymer will have to play qualifers instead of being in the main draw.Djokovic's name needs to be removed
Thanks for that extra info.Unbelievable.Agree with you,Miami officials need to email ASAP to Djokovic and needs to respond within 24 hours.I am still shaking my head.Remember Novak came out after he withdrew from IW and also said he would have to miss Miami as well. Why didnt he at the time withdraw his name at Miami as well? strange.IMO, this is not an oversight. God. Bless him.. Sometimes in life you gotta do what you gotta doYes I also read that about Alex as well....soo sad.
Stan Wawrinka, accepted a wild card, will play his first match since March 2021 at the Andalucia Open, an ATP Challenger 125 next week in Marbella.
I will email Stan and let him know of your approval lol! That I can live w/ I guess! This is nothing like Murray taking a spot in a major ATP event where more deserving players are entitled to compete!
Your love for Murray leaves me speechless. That I can live w/ I guess! This is nothing like Murray taking a spot in a major ATP event where more deserving players are entitled to compete!
