My commies were carrying on about the fact that Felix is yet to win a title,I don't think Rublev has yet found his best tennis, anyway we will take one match at a time.:)

He needs to mix it up to make it to the next level! I can only watch for so long w/ him trying to take the cover off the ball even though he's ginger! ;-)

I think it is finding the balance of having 'controlled aggression' instead of trying to take the cover off the ball :)

Yes , He needs to understand that he cannot hit thru everyone. He needs to play every point like he playing against one of the big 3 and Daniil, he should expect every point to be returned.

Agreed. He's not big enough or strong enough compared to the big guys in the up-and-coming game. He has a lot going for him, including a good head, but he's going to have to get trickier, I think.

If he was not your favorite player, he was your favorite player’s favorite player. Roger loved him. Rafa loved him. Novak loved him. The crowd adored him, too. Del Potro played every match like it might be his last, because it really might have been. At the 2017 U.S. Open, I watched an energized del Potro crawl back from a two-set deficit against Dominic Thiem on the outside grandstand court. The joint got so rowdy, it nearly levitated off the ground.

From the Tournament Director,Zeljko Franulovic,Monte Carlo, tournament to be played 9th to 17th April,

"To enter France, the first rule is that you must be vaccinated". Franulovic said.
"Djokovic should therefore not count on a medical exemption".
"The ATP protocol also offers the possibility to issue a certificate of corona infection a month before the start of the tournament. And as far as I know,Djokovic is currently not vaccinated.
Still, the tournament director does not want to personally attack the No 1 player in the world.
"As soon as he's okay,we'll welcome him with open arms" he says.
"We hope Djokovic will be there, but a tournament is more important than one player".

I did think about this issue: that the Monte Carlo tournament is actually played in France.

No His body is fine. Look at Daniil's body, I doubt @kskate2 Keli ever swoon over his body but he gets it done. Felix should have won his match vs Daniil but was unlucky. He needs to keep grinding and work on his UFEs that is mostly cause by his over hitting like Fiero mentioned. Remember when Sampras came up he wasnt thick but he had remarkable athleticisms and a hammer of a serve.

Correct. I am not swooning over Daniil or FAA. :nono: Also correct that Pete was a skinny kid when he first started. He filled out a bit well into his 20s.

Stan Wawrinka confirmed he will play Roland Garos this year and that he hopes to be back for the clay season in April.

I thought when Pete was in his prime. it was his early to mid 20s. He started to fill out when the injuries kicked in late 20s and 30 due to all those miles he logged on the hardcourts. @Kieran keep me honest but I think I am correct about Pete. BTW, Leave FAA alone, everyone can't look like Seniore Matteo dark good looks whom is FAA's buddy because they are dating cousins.

They’re kissing cousins, are they? :lol6:

Pete was a scrawny 19 year old when he dispatched the whole world to become the second last teenager to win a slam, but he began to bulk up by his mid twenties, kind of to a similar body type as Federer, lean, not carrying excess. I think a right though, injuries in the late 90’s definitely affected his fitness…

For years now we all have (especially El Dude and myself) have seen the similarities in the cousins from different mothers. I think Pete was more committed to the serve and volley game than Felix has been which is very difficult against the brilliant baseliners of today( Novak, Rafa, Daniil and the like). I expect Felix to win this tournament because he is probably riding that wave, he almost slain the AO favorite a few weeks ago.

I have no issues w/ FAA other than he needs a sports psychologist. His 0/8 record in finals is completely mental. Anyway, we all agree that Pete filled out in mid 20s. :flexed-biceps:

FAA needs to add variety in his serve,Cam is reading it well, also his first serve is crucial in this match
Going to a T/B for the 2nd set,FAA had chances but could not convert his BPs.
FAA 1st set 75
