Who wins?

They’ve only played once: Miami, two years ago.

I am going with HH on this.

While Matteo seemed to be serving big time in today's QF, it is probably at least partly due to poor returning by FAA. On the other hand HH seems to be a lot more consistent boom boomer. Further HH seems to move well for his height and also wins lots of points coming after long rallies. So, I would tend to think HH has the advantage. But I will give Matteo one set.

Could you not find a better picture of Matteo :)

Matteo on a 10 match winning streak on grass
Won 22 of his last 24 matches
This is his first Wimbledon s/final and his second slam s/final.

I think you could also possibly attribute it to the fact that they are really good friends.

Matteo has been to a SF of a Major before, and he is, as Margaret points out, on a great win streak, and, let's face it, if HH had faced a better Roger, he'd be gone. Like most of us, I have limited exposure to Hurkacz, and he seemed to find his more aggressive game v. Medvedev, after the overnight. He's lucky to have been off the court so quickly today. I think he'll feel the nerves more, and retreat a bit early, like he did v. Medvedev. But maybe he'll go for broke. Not always a great strategy. HH is going to look to control the net. Let's see how much nerve he has to do it. Berrettini is quick, for a big guy. I went for Berrettini in 4.

I am also with Berettini here, italian in 4 is my vote. Same logic as Moxie said, HH could have gone out of the tournament already against Medvedev. Winning against Fed these days is not a big deal, italian is more impressive IMO and I would be surprised if HH wins it.

i didnt know they are so high, 196 cm both, and 14 kg surplus on Berettini !!! Amazing. They spoiled my theory to high cant play good, and 96 kg is a lot to play on grass or sand.

I’m going with Babycakes Berrettini. I can see 4, but my gut tells me 5 because of nerves. I trust Berrettini’s game overall more than Hurkacz.

I’m mainly curious how Hurkacz will be after taking down his idol. How many times have we seen someone take down one of the Big Three, only to lose in the next round? I’m going with Berrettini in 4.

I posted in the general thread, but am repeating here.

According to bookies, Matteo has 68.75% chance of winning and Hubi has 31.25% chance.

Normally, I would agree with your statement, but this guy seems to be very cool and level headed. Even if he loses to Babycake, it won't be because he could not recover from the euphoria of feeding Fed a Bagel.
