Projected top seed Milos Raonic has withdrawn from this week's Delray Beach Open,along with Vasek Pospisil.It's unclear what role the increasing COVID rates played in both Raonic and Pospisil's decision to forgo the tournament,but as of Sunday,the state of Florida reported another 10,603 positive cases,marking the fifth straight reporting day of over 10,000 cases.

The ATP Cup main draw ceremony will be made on January 20.12 teams will be divided into 4 groups of 3 for group stage,round -robin play.The 4 group winners will advance to the semi finals.

And today more than 11.000. It´s ridiculous how the tourists are walking around without any masks and the authority of Miami Beach don´t do anything about it. At least the others communities of Miami are complying about it . It doesn't´t matter if the vaccine is working well enough or not, while the people are acting so stupid the virus is going to be around

Very Sad Carol,some people are just totally 'selfish' it also happens here in Sydney.I have worked in ICU with COVID patients last year,maybe these people need to go to a hospital and see what goes on when patients cannot breathe and have to be put on a ventilator? or be put in a 'induced coma' if very serious.....maybe then they might comply.

Unfortunately some people are thinking that it's just a flu maybe because they have not had someone close suffering the Covid or like you say they haven't been in the hospitals looking those patient on a ventilador. The serious problem is the bad consequences that those stupid people can give to others, awful!

Australian Open Media Statement re Hotel Quarantine..............Tuesday 5 January 2021.

The AO team has been working closely with COVID-19 Quarantine Victoria (CQV) on suitable quarantine hotel options in Melbourne.
Several hotels in Melbourne have already been secured including a replacement for the Westin,to safely accommodate the international playing group and their team members as well as allow for them to properly prepare for the first Grand Slam of the year.
The health and safety of everyone is our top priority.

There are a lot of pieces to this logistical puzzle and the last few are being finalised right now.We will have as many as 18 planes and each will be limited to 20% capacity to ensure the flights are as safe as possible for everyone.

Novak winning 2 and Federer possibly winning a slam?

I predict that Novak won't win a slam and that Federer won't be back at all.

Rafa needs to win AO. A 2nd career slam would really give him the momentum to have the best tennis resume EVER. IMO

Wow, I really don't envy them how complicated this all is, but I appreciate how much thought and attention they have put into the health and safety, not only of the players, but of the public against so many athletes coming in from all around the world.

What is AO plan with regards to fans? How many will they allow on stadiums if any? The way things are going It seems like in 2021 we won't see packed stadiums for a whole year. I do hope the quantity of fans will gradually increase towards the end of the year and that we can see at least half full stadiums or something like that in the 2nd half of the season.
