Well that tiebreaker was an anticlimactic finish.
The commentators were saying Diego climbs up to #8 ( and Rublev to top 10) so a personal high by him.
I thought Rafa looked solid, not spectacular but then again he didn’t need to be. Like I said previously Diego doesn’t have an impressive service game he can hold consistently versus Rafa. Diego loosened up the last half of the 3rd set after being down 2-4, Rafa got a little tight including some Misfired gimmee volleys, but hey reminds us he’s human out there. He got a workout but wasn’t extremely challenged so was nice he got to wrap it in 3.
They also mentioned this is the 11th time that Rafa has won the SF in straight sets.
Insane.
