I think it was @the AntiPusher who predicted a big run here from RBA... well, he's being proved right.

Yes, I think he mentioned somenthing like Agut taking out Novak if they met early in the 2nd week, but they could meet a bit later as it looks like now.

I've checked top ranked guys in a drawchallenge and almost no one predicted Agut going further than QF.

I don't know who wins. But, I am strongly rooting for Pella and it is not even exclusively due to dislike of RBA.

I am voting for Pella in 4.

I'm torn over this one for so many reasons. They've met twice and Pella has not beaten RBA, but he's having a "breakout" year. They're pretty evenly match, but Pella has lefty advantage. I prefer Pella's game, plus he's a cutie. My other agenda, of course, is the winner of this will be the last chance to take out Novak before the final, however slim. Even though RBA has 2 wins of Djokovic this year, I don't think he'll do it here. I'll go with the stylish Argentine. He and Novak have only met once, in 2013. Plus, there is the lefty aspect. Now, I just hope he doesn't have to fight RBA too long for it.

This one is tough to pick because Pella has had a fantastic year. They've only played twice. RBA has won both. Never on grass. They played earlier this year on clay in Munich. They split the first 2 sets then RBA won the third set to love. RBA the accomplished grass court player. Both with the serve and game to do well on the grass. Of course they both sort of lucked into being in the Zverev/Anderson quarter. I thought Raonic would take it over. He fought to the end with Pella. But Pella with the match toughness to finish him off.

Maybe it turns into a war of attrition. At which point it's a tossup. But honestly I do think overall RBA is the cleaner player and should come out on top. He still hasn't dropped a set.

But strangely, Pella has now beaten Copil, Seppi, Anderson, and Raonic, in succession. Those last three all love grass. And 3 of the 4 are giants who have 4 to 6 inches on Pella who have the serve to succeed on grass. Anderson coming back from injury just wasn't ready to go. Clearly. Pella got a little lucky there. Raonic though, while it took 5 sets and 8-6 in the fifth, is a good win. In the end, it really is just that he outlasted him. But he did it. But it's the fact that he beat big servers that might actually mean he's not set to beat RBA. RBA is just a better overall player than any of those 4. And a better player to this point in their careers than Pella. Pella this year has been different. He simply believes more. His coach has helped him find another level. This is not the Pella of the last 5 years. I'm not sure that level is good enough to beat RBA though. He's battled so well this week though. So if he can get a foothold and get a set, he's definitely got a shot to make his first semifinal.

On paper though, of the 4, this one is the tossup. So we'll see.

RBA has impressed me a lot in more than one occasion this year. I guess I had him as a huge dark horse on AO... but that did not work out. He is consistently knocking on the door. He mixes a solid game with some flashes of brilliance -- which is a winning formula. And he is getting used to big matches against big dogs, the moment he loses that fear factor, he will be a real danger.

I like Pella a lot -- actually much more than RBA. He has a lot of touch, or "soft hands" as a good friend here taught me. It is nice to see that he was able to translate it to grass courts. Usually South Americans struggle to get familiarized with the environment. He will make RBA run from one side to the other like a mad man... RBA plays safer, but Pella on a good day asks a lot of different questions. If both rise to the occasion, it could be an instant forgotten classic, since both are still "outsiders". If they play a classic, the only way to history to acknowledge it as such is if the victors validates it by winning it all -- which is extremely unlikely, but it would be nice (specially if Pella wins).

Actually I did and I have proof lol, I have him losing to Novak. Won’t win the challenge though as my bottom half is not as solid

The points are unbelievably long. It’s like they are playing at Indian Wells.
