I'm not sure why anyone thought this would be interesting. I'd expect Nadal to win 65% of 2nd serve points and not face a BP. Querrey is all serve like other Amercians

after a set of failing me the maestro has righted the ship. He needs it done and dusted in 4.

YAY! And Querrey doesn't even let Nadal finish the set without breaking back. Has been sending the message that, "You broke me once. But it's not gonna be easy again. I'm gonna crank up the speed. And I'm gonna be tough. And you'll have to fight to break me again." And that applied the pressure. And Nadal cracked just a little. Just a little dip in his great serving so far today and Querrey finds the break.

But now some missed first serves and Nadal with a chance to break right back. But just one. 30-40. Querrey makes the first serve and smashes the return away. Deuce.

But Rafa breaks in the end. Querrey double faulting to give a 3rd break point to Rafa. Just can't do that. Bad first serve game. Just gotta get those in. Rafa punishing his second serves. Hence the double fault. Went for too much on the second serve and it was just wide down the T.

Querrey winning a couple of Nadal's second serves here though. Right off of the return too. Rafa mixing it up nicely though. Despite missing the first serve repeatedly. Has now missed 4 of 5 first serves at 30-all. And Querrey gets another error. Break point. Makes the first serve down the T this time though. Deuce. 123 his fastest serve of the match. Querrey making the return on the first serve this time though and Nadal misses the third ball way long. Makes the third ball this time though. Great angle. Deuce. Querrey gets another break point. Nadal saves another 1 again. This time down the T at 125. Nadal finally makes a first serve on the deuce court. Wins it. But hits a let. Then misses the first serve on the Ad court this time. But Rafa takes the set. Querrey misses the return.

7-5. Good on Querrey though to break back and get into the match. Really show Rafa that he's here to fight for this. Tough to drop his serve again right after that break though. Can't do that. Just can't. Rafa more than a touch better at times. But in the end just a touch better.

Hopefully Querrey can continue to hang with the Rafa that shows up after he's won the first set.

Oh wow. That's a fun stat. Apparently Querrey has the official record with the ATP for 10 aces in a row. Apparently against Blake some years ago.

Oh. Rafa way too good there though. Breaks early. 2-1. Querrey seemingly out of ideas on his own serve if the return comes back. Missing too many first serves to hold at the moment. Needs to believe he can play with Rafa if he has to. Coming in is a good tactic. But he's coming in too much. And his volleys weren't good enough that time around. Uphill battle.

And Rafa breaks again. Querrey definitely not up to the task this second set. Hopefully he can find all the first serves in the third set. Really just wanna see him get a set. I mean. Yeah. I want to see him win it. But if he can just push Rafa to a fourth. I'll be satisfied.
