I never understood why we as people have to put labels on everything. Greatest this, LGBTQ, whatever it is. Can we not just look at it as it is or was? These women played and have had brilliant tennis careers. Can we not just enjoy what Serena brings to the game of tennis? Her career is coming to an end in most likely the next several years and then we will have to look back like we do on the Martina Navratilova's, Chris Evert's, and Steffi Graf's careers and hope for another player to come along and fill the shoes in the future.

The concept of GOAT (Great of all Time) is questionable anyway. The user @nehmeth came up with GOTE (Greatest of their Era), which is more applicable. To compare across eras isn’t reasonable, given the changes along the way, not to mention the fact that tennis has been around for hundreds of years.

Well I don’t know why anyone cares. Serena is comfortable with where she is at in life. Even if she doesn’t win another slam; she will always be known for her serve, power, and overall fight.

You have serious issues. I've seen numerous posts from your where you've accused people of being racist for absolutely nothing. It has nothing to do with that ffs. I just don't think she's the best female player I've ever seen by a country mile based on her career results and nothing more. I'm not gonna bother replying to your other personal post cos it's fucking retarded. Lots of people here don't like Serena Williams. I used to years ago but I don't anymore. That's all there is to it and none of the other horseshit you posted.

Can I ask you why you used to like Serena, what changed your opinion?

I rewatched Bianca's match...to me she is the female version of Rafa....a street fighter to boot lol!

I still feel this match is on Serena's racket. To me she is better prepared for this final.

After having to retire with back spasm's in her previous match with Bianca,we did not really get to see how the match would have panned out.Bianca will need to watch her 2nd serve, which can break down easily,if not it will be easy pickings for Serena.Bianca will not go down without a fight, like Serena, they both had great mental strength's.

Hoping for a competitive final.Good luck to both players.

I foresee problems. She’s the one who gave Serena a hinderance code violation in the 2015 AO final.

Yep,still I knew they would not put a male umpire on this match

I wish Lyn Welch would come out of retirement lol!

The so called Us as you say ( Let's be honest, it's has all to do with that most of you all that has anything against a competitor like Serena's game is because of an obvious racist's bias) nothing more nothing less. )

As is the case with all champions, they’re divisive. Graf, Serena, Federer, Nadal — they each have their worshippers and haters. Hating Graf isn’t anti-German; it’s ultimately pro-Seles. Hating Nadal isn’t being anti-Spaniards; it’s being pro-Federer.

I’ve personally run hot and cold with Serena over the years. Winning the 2007 AO is still one of the most amazing GS wins I’ve ever seen, and converted me to being a fan, but I’ve also been turned off the way she can be such a sore loser. But I get why she’s so disappointed — that’s integral to what makes her such a great champion.

I don’t care about the gender of an umpire. I just want one who will be fair.

See your point, still after last year I think the official's did not want to put a male umpire on the match, still I thought it might be Kader Nouni who would have been a good choice.

I agree. I can’t remember him ever doing something controversial. (If he has, I’ve forgotten.)

I'm thinking Serena will get it done today, be it 2 or 3 sets. Bianca is young, she will have many more chances.

Tented..that is perfectly stated .Her behavior has been unacceptable at times..It's something about the US Open that I truly believe started when she got robbed in the match vs Jenny C..hence that why it is instant replay to ensure accuracy of calls..It's not an excuse but I can as a former athlete understand why she is a bit edgy at the NYC tournament.

I should have phrased it "the way she used to be a sore loser" -- as I said in the Live Chat, to her credit, she has become an extremely gracious loser.
