Looking forward to the live Hawk-Eye instead of line judges

With as hard as these guys work, how do they expect them to play in consecutive weeks; even the KIDS? I doubt we'll ever see someone who qualifies for both the NG-YEC & ATP WTF will ever even try to tough it out! I'm anxious to see this new scoring system at work! We need anything to cut everything but the heart of these matches out! Ya can't expect the casual fan to get locked into a tennis match for 4-5 hours! Even the diehards are getting sick of it since a lot of the time wasted is in gamesmanship, toweling off, challenging calls that are ridiculous, and arguing a ruling with the umpire they know is fruitless! I know; they need to get the frustration out! Heaven knows I went thru a lot of tennis rackets over the years! :nono:  :banghead: :cuckoo:   :ptennis:

I am fully in favor of Nextgen finals and WTF happening in back to back weeks. It is going to be relatively rare for a player to qualify for both (although Sasha already did that an year or two ago) and so it should not cause serious issues in general. Also, the Next Gen Finals acts as a nice break for main stream players to rest in between Bercy and WTF. If Bercy and WTF were playing back to back weeks (they tried one year I think), it is almost impossible for Bercy to attract top players. Already so many players skip Bercy, if it were in the week before WTF only the players in the running for unclaimed spots in WTF would play Bercy.

So no news on Rafa and the YEC yet I see! I keep expecting to wake up to the news that he's shutting it down! I guess he's either going to wait until the last moment or see how things shake out with the draw and his potential opposition! I think I heard the draw comes out Tues.! I suppose the tour will continue allowing Rafa to make his own schedule and will play when he damn well pleases! :nono:

You’re damn Straight..Rafa beats to his on Blah Blah Blah... Seriously Fiero, Rafa is a 33 year with an 37 year old body.. although he still has great cardio , he is alway gonna be injury prone for the remainder of his career..Rafa has to pick and choosing events where he can maximize his opportunities to win a title.. If you recall, I have stated numerous of times Rafa alway arrived at the USO with about 2 or 3 weeks of cartilage synvisc injections barely left in his knees.. when he tries to push it, he always strains or injured other parts of his body.

There can't be that many surprises in an 8-man draw, can there? Anyway, he was seeing his doctor today in Barcelona.

Nadal has an ab strain. No?
Yes. He saw his doctor in Barcelona on Monday. He's going to London and hopefully will be well enough to play.

Yes, that's kinda how it works. The tour cannot force a player to play. There's a number of mandatory events and even then, they can't force you to play if you're injured. Also, since this isn't your local insurance company, you're under no obligation to give a one month notice if you want to pull out of a tournament.

I don't think anyone posted this, but Andy and Kim had a baby boy a couple of weeks ago. Always funny, Andy said this: "I'll have three kids under four years old. When I've been off the tour my family has got bigger so I need to get back on the road so we don't get out of control!"
