Except he always won those matches. So how much was he "sucking" really? Nowadays, he always loses them. Big difference. You think he's still the same grass court player but he just happens to lose all those matches he was winning? This makes zero sense.

He's facing scrubs the first week so he should win even if it's a bad surface for him. The difference between him winning tight matches vs creampuffs and sometimes losing to creampuffs is that he could retrieve better and simply outlast opponents easier when he was younger.

Just once I'd like to hear a Nadal on grass discussion that actually touches on the nuances in his game and how it's changed (to the worse) over the years, rather than "oh yeah, this is completely normal, he always sucked, but somehow reached 5 consecutive finals."

Why is it so hard for you to simply accept the fact that Nadull sucks on grass?

@monfed This is not the Fedal wars thread. If you're going to continue living in 2008 take your comments there. This thread is about the current matches being played at SW19

Nadal is playing right now is he not? This is not a fedal wars post at all, this is about Nadull sucking on grass which I'm free to comment on.

He absolutely should beat those guys, even now. Fact is, he isn't. And saying he could "retrieve" the ball easier before is such a carefully selected word in order to not concede the argument. Yes, but why can't he retrieve as well? Movement. His movement isn't what it used to be, and as you surely know, movement isn't strictly an issue of how fast can you run after the ball, surely it's much more nuanced than that, and years of wear and tear, age, and knee injuries have taken their toll. That's always been my argument, and Nadal LITERALLY said as much last year, and yet I had Fed fans led by GSM explain to me about what Nadal REALLY meant, as if the following can have some ambiguously complicated meaning:

"It’s true that after 2012, what happened with my knees, [it’s] been tougher and tougher to compete on grass for me,” he told reporters at the French Open. “But if I have pain on the knees, then I know from experience that it’s almost impossible because I need to feel strong, low and powerful legs. You need to play at a lower level."

Kukushkin should've won the first set 6-2 if he had a BH. dull absolutely sucks on grass right now. Deal with it.

Pleb applying the screws. Djoker up 3-0 right away and Juicic saved a couple BP's.

Apparently I have to repeat myself. You mentioning previous years has nothing to do with the match being played right now.

So Nadal made self-serving comments to explain atrocious losses to clowns for 5 years. I guess we are supposed to take it at face value. HUGE backswing and his only real weapon being insane topspin has nothing to do with it? Yes he doesn't move as well as before there is no doubt and that's turned narrow escapes into humiliating losses.

Looks like De Minaur will have to take out the trash in the 3rd Rd. ie if he can take out Herbert.

This is your post. You go back and reread. You brought up 2008. You calm down before you find your account blocked.
Yes and except 2008, he should've gone out in the first week in all of those if he hadn't cheated taking fake MTOS and timewasting.
