It is the rematch of last year's US Open semifinal. Nadal leads the H2H matchup 11-5 and winning the last three meetings (all in the majors).

It will be interesting on how Nadal will feel in the first set after playing a total of 12.5 hours in his last three matches. One thing is for sure, he can not afford to lose the 1st set like he did against Thiem.

As for Delpo, this is a good opportunity for him to test Nadal's level and stamina. In a weird way, it will be better for him if he makes Nadal run a lot in the first so he could test Nadal's body and legs.

I could see this match go either way and if it goes to a long match, then advantage for Delpo.

Nadal should do well in this match, hope he can start well, just needs to play like he did at Wimbledon against del potro.

I just think a full 2 day rest before the SF ( played Tuesday and won’t play until Friday) will gave Rafa enough to squeeze by in 4 close sets.

Well as I've said for years, "lets hope not" and keep the tradition going for Nadal being unable to defend a title off clay! :negative:

I hope I’m wrong but I’m going with Nads in four.

I’m curious how Juan Martin is faring, certainly he’s gotta be pumped to finally get back to a Major final, yet he’s pushing 30 himself.

Is Delpo due one? He's getting closer. I'll be rooting for him. I don't think he goes through both Nadal and Djokovic though...

Ralph, I'm not sure if he is able to climb the mountain again. Yes, DP is due and his forehand has been looking... formidable. His backhand dtl is definitely clicking, albeit not yet with the punch it once had.

Novak is 13-0 against Kei since getting eliminated by him here, so I think he will make it through. I would love to see a final with ND and DP. I would be hard pressed to bet against Juan.

Nadal still takes in 5, in spite of the long matches he has played.

Del Po has been largely irrelevant for 9 years. This would be a nice time to step up and show he's a legit threat again.

His draw has been a cakewalk so far. Nadal is his first top tier opponent.

They've both had similar difficulty of draws I'd say. It's a big step up in competition for both, on paper at least.

DP is always a threat, but like so many with so much game, we don't know how he'll play or if his wrists will hold out! We've seen him in his prime make Fedalovic look like fools standing watching his FH wizz by! IIRC, he annihilated Nadal 2,2,& 2 back in the '09 SF he ultimately won over Fed in 5! He took Nole out in the Olympics twice; so we know he has game! Should be good; esp. if Nadal's still feeling that marathon from a couple nights ago! :lol3: :yesyes: :p  :ptennis:

So you’re the one calling up Nadal’s hotel room in middle of the night to take away his REM sleep...
