I’m talking about the Olympics when after Nadal won the 2nd set and gained the momentum Nishikori went for a bathroom break and disappeared for 15 minutes, even took a shower.

I'm guessing Nadal taking a piss before Federer served for the match in Indian Wells didn't bother you to the same degree :lol3:

There's no proof he took a shower and Nadal is the biggest cheat in tennis history with all his gamesmanship so why not have a nice cool glass of stfu, shall we? Big log before your opponent serves for the match anyone? Check. Towel off after after being aced anyone? Check. Make your opponent wait even before the damn coin toss? Check. Fake MTOs when losing? Check. And best one yet, temporary ban (?!) on an umpire who actually shock horror enforced the rules? Check. Yeah, great sport that Nadal alright. Now take a cookie and a bow.

federer is the biggest cheater not nadal, federer cheats he's way into night matches, serve the ball to quickly does not wait for the returner, and finally cheats he's way into to being a higher seed than that he is. Nadal is the fairest player on tour, even given the player he played against in the rogers cup final a first serve.

There's just so much fail here I dunno where to begin. How can you cheat your way to being a higher seed ffs? You know there's a ranking system, right?! You are meant to play to the server's pace so if you want to get on with things then it's not right that your scumbag opponent should stall you to try and put you off your game and attempt to do their best to get you to lose. That's what your hero does. Always.

The sportsmanship award is voted for by the players themselves and there's a reason Federer has won it so much. Ironically, Nadal won it the year of some of his most infamous cheating with fake MTOs at Wimbledon 2010 but he's never won it any other time. Clearly they don't consider him anywhere near the fair sport you lot do.

How exactly? The #1 and #2 seeds have the same weighting in the draw and the ranking is based on rankings in combination with a grass court results formula.

Yes I know how the wimbledon seeding works federer won last year so thats why he got number one seed, just not think ot should be like that?
So clearly know, can you explain how you attribute it to Fed cheating for higher seeding/ranking

because federer asks to be a higher seed every time, to get a easy draw.

The sad thing is I think you're being serious here. Wimbledon is the only tournament with a special ranking system and I'm pretty sure it was in place before Federer.

Regardless if you can find me a direct quote where Roger asked a tournament director/ATP to make him a higher seed I will mail you my paychecks for the rest of my life and will become the biggest Nadal fan that ever existed.

Not true. Rafa's sister is fine as hell and I like Xisca too. There is his compliment. I will also have you know that I had a great Rafa moniker when I lost a bet in 2013.

What will it take for you to share more about that...LOL

I lost a bet on the RG 2013 semi though I was kind of forced into it by Didi, an old poster here. He didn't believe under any circumstance that I could bring myself to say anything nice about Nadal or have a profile picture of him. I proved him wrong unfortunately.

Ha! I had to be nice about Agassi once, it was very, very difficult.

Are/were you a Sampras guy? Is that part of the reason you can't stand Roger and like Rafa? The reason I ask is that that used to be the largest contingent of fans on the old board, guys who had rooted for Sampras that were terrified Fed would break the record. They therefore became "Nadal fans" which I found hilarious because it's hard to picture two players more different as far as game style.

First match I remember was Sampras-Courier 1993 Wimbledon final. I was 8 years old and told that I needed to root for Sampras because he was Greek. Going forward that of course helped but I would've been a big fan anyways.

I guess I see why a lot of the Sampras fans couldn't stand Roger as it really became about the records. I hope Roger always has it but I know that may soon not be the case with the one that really matters. But my hatred of Nadal basically started right away. Records are made to be broken but I hope like hell it isn't by the peasant boy.

Yes, I was a pistol Pete fan, but more because I couldn't stand Agassi. B-) I was a huge Stefan Edberg fan so it's funny one would think I would be a Federer fan based on style of play.

As far as tennis records, I'm pretty sanguine about them, I know they're meant to be broken. So I honestly don't get Sampras fans who became Nadal fans just to stop Fed's totals.

I dunno, Federer I liked OK before but never warmed up to him. He was the first "pretty" player who was competitive and won, so there was that. So many players with great shots simply didn't have the drive ( a whole list of them, talking to you Henri Leconte) and it's funny to remember now but that was the question mark about Fed back pre 2003.

It's weird, with Nadal I suppose it was more how he was fearless from the beginning. He beat Federer at Miami that one year (2004?) and then was proclaiming he wanted to win Wimbledon, a Spaniard with that goal?? When he beat Roger at Dubai that one year on fast HC I knew this was someone who was going to do it his way , so I guess that was what I really admired.

Totally understand why others don't like him, style of play, etc, but what encapsulated him to me is when he was so crestallen losing the 2nd Wimbledon final to Roger (2007) in five sets, he was crushed. He expected to win that match whereas most players those days oohed and ahhhed before Federer. That's when I knew the kid was going to win Wimbledon some day.

I like the Nole (the JOKER) for other reasons. Very, very strange ones both tennis and non tennis related.
