Ok, bring on the 5th set now.

The good thing is that Thiem is young and energetic. He is not tired by any means.

Also, this being US Open (where there is TB even in 5th set), Ralph cannot grind him down.

If at all Thiem loses, it will be due to mental choking and not due to physical tiredness.

Rafa did his best Fed impression on that volley miss. Awful TB from him too, let's see if he can recover better than Roger did.

Yikes. Can't believe Rafa missed that forehand. But I mean, that was like the 3rd or 4th one he'd missed in the tiebreak and last game.

TO FIVE WE GO!!!!

(My eyes want sleep so bad!)

Nadal should be in the locker room by now, and I should be in bed. Grr...pero ¡Vamos! Rafa! You may just have to do it without me.

The main problem with Thiem (IHMO) seems to be that he is playing too close to the lines even in situations where it is totally unnecessary.
He needs to cut it out and play with more margins when there is no need to redline.

I skipped both milkman and this match thinking they’d be routine before turning it on later lol

He plays with spin, so I'm not sure that's right...but Rafa presses. Don't forget that.

AYE! That was brilliant from Thiem! That lob I mean. Made him go for the over the back volley. But set it up with a nice forehand. Got that last bit from the commentator.

Impressive hold there. Dug deep. Found one ace. Found that massive forehand down the line a couple times. Which was more about catching Nadal off guard.

Seriously needs to find a break here though to give himself a chance. Nadal will almost certainly find one. So he needs to find one just to keep himself in it.
