I am starting to wonder if Keys has the mindset to win a slam.

@Tenfan63 She doesn't. That's 2 consecutive flameouts in the slams after running over everyone in the early rounds.

I'm happy for Kerber but very sad about Keys. The upside is I'll be getting a lot more sleep this week!

I don't understand why they can't start the next match right now. Unnecessarily making people wait.

I agree. Why a "not before 1pm" when the players have been pendant to the length of matches all tournament?

Not only that, but this side of the draw comes back tomorrow for the SF. So it seems logical that they would play first and second so they can get ready for tomorrow. Instead they decide to sandwich an ATP match in the middle.

The AO has some weird scheduling. Everyone complains about the USO, but Oz has a few things to answer for.

No, No. Normally, they would schedule one ATP and one WTA match for the day session and same story for the night session (see yesterday's schedule for example). But, as the winners of WTA match have to get ready for tomorrow, instead of making them wait to play in the night session, they have actually placed it as the third match in the day session. So, it is actually sensible though it does not appear so on the first glance.

What's sensible about first and 3rd? Why not first and second? Besides, I've been watching Aus for years and they used to play the women's QF matches back to back.

No, you are mixing it up. It is the two women's SF that are back to back usually. I have not checked, but will check the old schedules may be later.

I'm not mixing it up. Give me a little credit. You're forgetting as the TF admin, I used to put up the order of play for the slams everyday. For instance, here's a post from last year's QF schedule

So the battle of #1 has come down to the two topseeds and it would be fair if they could battle it out in the final - but here is the scenario

Halep loses and WOz wins semi - Wozniacki is the new #1 and so it is if she wins e.g. against Halep in a final. Hope for the last ;)
