I'm so unimpressed with what I've seen from Dimitrov in this match - he really seems to have regressed mentally.

Kyle Edmund has a better chance of beating Rafa than this version of Grigor.

He looked pretty bad.

No Mac. We don't feel bad for Dimi. He needs to grow a pair already

Come on Dude! Let's call a spade a spade. At least Nadal has a slam champ on his side of the draw. Fed's path is really looking like a 500 w/ Berdshite and some young guns on his side.

I'll go with Dimitrov in 4...although if he finds a way to lose to #50 in the world I won't be too surprised...

Is it tacky to quote myself? :D:lulz1::lol6: THIS is why I keep saying Dimitrov is NOT a top 3 player and won't be able to defend his points from last year. Beats Kyrgios - loses to #50.

Nadal fans should take heart though - cuz Cilic'll probably have another blister tonighty and if he doesn't his nerves will do him - again...

Wasn't expecting that... Not able to watch, but I'm guessing Dimitrov was a lot flatter than the fired up guy who came out against Kyrgios?

I think you missed the joke - thus the wink. Moxie and i had joked up thread that there would be a shitstorm if Rafa wins the AO by beating Edmund in the SF and Sandgren (or Chung, or Berdych for that matter), in the final.

But yeah...Fedal have both had pretty easy roads. Cilic is the most accomplished opponent either will have faced through the QF, and to the Final if they both make it.

I was going to tell her that. I knew it was a joke. But interesting point she makes...Fed's draw has opened up.

I must have. Mox and I were just saying the other day that I don't always pay attention.

To be fair Roger's path has ended up just as easy. He just ws supposed to have a much tougher stretch. Anyways it's on him now, you can pencil Rafa in the finals. Roger better be there to protect his legacy.

Grigor has proven once and for all that he's not a legit contender. You don't follow up a big breakthrough at YEC and a nice win here with a loss to Edmund...he's done.

He wasn't that flat. Like Djokovic - he got outplayed by someone who had nothing to lose. I remain unimpressed by Dimitrov. McEnroe kept talking about how Dimitrov was being too predictable with his backhand - always going cross court because he's lost confidence in his DTL BH. Mostly what I saw is that Dimitrov still doesn't have enough game to win a Slam - especially mentally.

I agree with most of this. Dimitrov didn't look flat or tired. He made poor choices. Likely he underestimated Edmund a bit. And Edmund bullied him a bit, too.

Way to go dimi, beat Nick playing high level then managed to lose to a guy who has lost more matches than he won. But Kyle did play awesome!

"Almost" being the operative word. I think Berdych is a tougher player to beat for Roger than Cilic is for Nadal. And Roger's SF will be tougher if he plays Chung and the kid is playing lights out again. I will literally pee myself laughing if the final ends up being Edmund vs. Chung\Sandgren...

Rafa's gotta get through Cilic, for one. And he has his own legacy to play for and protect, lest we forget. ;)
